Now if they were modular synthesizers that might be a bit of a problem, but hey it's a great thing to have less bloat in your studio!

I have owned alot of modern analogs recently and i have reduced right down to one now(a sub37)...im only gutted that i sold my analog four.....for me just a little bit of analog is enough...the rest is ITB

I could see you selling them at the insanely high prices they go for currently... that is, if you'd ever had any analog synthesizers to begin with.

The closest one you had was the 106, and still that was only half analog. At least you got around $800 out of it, right?

The alpha juno and 106 will be difficult to replace, but if you didn't like the timbre quirks of them they were worthless to you anyway.

The others though aren't exactly up on the list of "most analog" synthesizers. Not when the alpha juno and 106 are on the bottom of this list.

Are you saying I am not insane or that I am not a freedom fighter because they were not real analogs? Would I have been insane or a freedom fighter if they were real analogs? In that case, which real analogs do you have in mind?

I'm not saying they weren't "real" analogs, I'm saying they weren't purely analog nor often will they come up on a list of the "most analog" sounding synthesizers out there.

The alpha juno and juno 106 both have filters with harmonic content that is a bit hard to reproduce. I'm certain that Diva for example must have a 106 emulation, but I'm not certain it would have the state-variable filter present in the alpha juno.

As for "most analog"; synthesizers like the synthacon, minimoog, ms-10, 770, sh-1 (or 2), many modulars and others will often be mentioned. Most of these have at least one or two things about them that are very unique to them and give them a unique timbre. In many cases this is also a property that is very difficult to emulate, even given the best of modern methods and processing power combined with a targeted effort.

So my point was simply that the one synthesizer you've sold is likely easy to find software for as an approximation. The junos are a bit more tricky but you aren't exactly hopeless so long as you can bear only a rough approximation and won't miss the exact timbres presented by those synthesizers.
