Just save the png at 24 bit (or 32bit, meaning 8 bits per channel RGB or RGBA) instead of "indexed" !

First, this is the best and most funny idea i have seen in years !!!
Thanks a lot!
After the project loaded correctly, thanks Taron, I tried the Export Consolidated Project.
I deleted all of the previous files, loaded the consolidated project and all is fine but the picture is not copied and the file path is still the old original one.
Edit: I have done this with 6.5.28

OK, I have uploaded it agin, please please let it work
I have done what BlackWinny suggested and put it in its own folder within the user/library/project folder, I then zipped it and that is what I uploaded.
As for the picture, well I have no idea if its right now, according to windows it is 263 kb and has a depth of 8 bits not 24 /32, all I can say is it works on mine
what free software can I use to make 24/32 bit png's?
Thanks for the nice comments, hope it works this time
I also used the new 6.5.29 update, Jo, is BlackWinnys way the way to go in future regarding sharing stuff or does the update now mean they can be saved anywhere ? I think there shoud be a definitive procedure for "idiots" like me

Some graphics editors which are excellent, very powerful, and absolutely free: They all have the PNG 24/32 features. The PGN 24-bit is frequently called also RVB Mode and the PNG 32-bit is frequently called also RVBA Mode.bibz1st wrote:OK, I have uploaded it agin, please please let it work![]()

There are also excellent graphics tools which are not really editors but very powerful to manipulate pictures and photos, make huge transformations in them as well as real graphics editors (but you won't be able to "draw" as with a real editor like those in my first list just above)... and they allow to converts between hundreds of formats, from the most prehistoric to the most recent formats and with all their declinations: and so many others...
All that is totally free.

Your updated version loads fine here. M6.5.29 fixed the file path issue. And resaving the PNG fixed the PNG format issue.bibz1st wrote:OK, I have uploaded it agin, please please let it work
It's explained on this doc page:I also used the new 6.5.29 update, Jo, is BlackWinnys way the way to go in future regarding sharing stuff or does the update now mean they can be saved anywhere? I think there shoud be a definitive procedure for "idiots" like me
http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mux/mu ... anels.html
Meanwhile i got an idea to further improve it: When the picture file path is not found, it will look for it in the folder with the .MUX file. But that's for later. Anyway, if you just make sure the picture file is in the .MUX preset file folder (or a sub-folder of it) before saving the MUX preset, it will work. (with M6.5.29 or up!)

@ Jo- thanks for the new update and one quick question, are you saying that the image I included has the correct bit depth or did you have to convert it ?
@ BlackWinny- thanks for the links, I already have Gimp and Photoscape but when I tried to export the image it didnt give me the option of setting the bit depth, I must be missing a step somewhere, I'll investigate further.
The actual concept of the drum thingy is a bit pointless but at least it caused a few laughs, also on the subject of the image I used, I hope its ok to have used it as I googled "free dum images" and that was one that came up. I dont want the IPP ( Internet Percussion Police ) knocking on my door

Ok had a quick look at it:
Currently PNG files that use a color palette are not yet supported.
So resave the PNG using a straight color format (ie. without color palette)
You can do so, or make other edits to a panel background picture, while the front panel is open.
Note however that once a certain picture file is loaded in MuLab/MUX it is cached, so updating the picture and reopening the editor or reloading the MUX patch won't work. Solution is to assign a shortcut to the "Reset Graphic Resources" function and use that shortcut to refresh the graphics cache.

Thanks Jo,
yea I sussed that Mulab has to be quit before it will accept the new graphic and thanks for that solution, I hadnt even seen that option.
So to be clear, I wasnt doing anything wrong except maybe putting things on the desktop, yes ?
