If you mean the A-B Crossfading: Exactly the same as for single tracks.u-u-u wrote:How does crossfading for groups look like?
The tracks inside groups keep their A-B settings as well, so you can decide if you want to crossfade individual tracks or the whole group.
Cheers,
Tom

Hey.. did you just stumble on another great idea.. A balloon dialog box whenever there is a "+" with more choices relevant to that section? hmm.. if developers can have that new template idea hold sub-templates then that "+" opens up only that sub-template specific section (i.e. track, track group, inspector, etc..).u-u-u wrote:.. But the '+' somehow implies that. Or what about hot-swapping whole track settings? Just kiddingThomasHelzle wrote:If you mean the A-B Crossfading: Exactly the same as for single tracks.u-u-u wrote:How does crossfading for groups look like?

Maybe? Don't know... Actually just was thinking a bit about the whole save'n'browse feature set. Some more points here - just as I see it:
a) what's the difference between (project) templates and projects? Can the t.s hold (e.g. custom metronome or dummy) clips?
b) difference between multi-clips and projects? (only thing I Can find fast are key/controller mappings)
c) a) and b) influence this: do we needso many formats when they are so similar?
d) group track presets would actually be just multi-clips without content? Or can project templates do the same when dragged in as group track?
e) track presets are the same as clips without content?
f) device templates and are the same as presets?
g) what's missing in the puzzle of workflow is a context browser for clips. So just add a plus to every clip launcher slot... and to every point in the arranger
No but maybe one in every (or only the selected) track right behind the now-time marker. Or key modifier + click in arranger with some tool to instantly open clip context browser?
Brain empty. Fine. Actually wasn't that much. Nevermind. It's too late for that^^

Just forgot h):
h) When trying to open the sounds I saved I often end up looking in both the clip browser and the device browser. Because from a musician's point of view it often the same: a sound.
So maybe there could be a little option in the clip save dialog like a little arrow ('save also as preset') which Can pop out the preset save dialog If I want so?

I think it's a small but great improvement! It eliminates a click and it makes browsing quicker. 99% of the time, when I call the browser is to load a device or a sample, not to "look at a certain folder" so I will click IN the browser and remove the focus anyway. Thanks for listening Bitwig, I can't wait to put my hands on 1.2!!TeotiGraphix wrote:It still works but you need to click IN the browser area to remove focus from the Search input, do this and you can then toggle with B again like you want.blouaap wrote:Little annoyance:
Pressing B opens the browser, and search takes focus immediately, so pressing B again enters a search query instead of closing the browser again. I sometimes open and close the browser quickly to look at a certain folder I got stuff in as reference.

I got an email from Dom saying that Alt-B should close the browser when the search text has focus. He said this works on Mac and Linux but Windows is screwed up.Semipro wrote:I think it's a small but great improvement! So basically Windows users need to make another shortcut to close the browser.
Which I added Ctrl-Alt-B and it closes the browser with the input still focused, so this all works fine but not by default on Windows(because of the Alt problem).

Yeah, got a similar reply.
The shortcut-editor is in dire need of checking for doubles though - I tried CTRL-B for browser toggle and since this is already used for Bounce it didn't work but neither did it warn me or tell me about the double use.
Amazing how every addition always creates an avalanche of related things...
Cheers,
Tom

Tom, If you type the shortcut in the right input, you can see what is already assigned. Am I missing something?ThomasHelzle wrote:Yeah, got a similar reply.

I agree that a conflict message during assignment is a must.

No, you don't miss anything, I just didn't think about it. When the already pre-assigned Alt-B didn't work I simply entered the next best thing and I don't think a normal user will first search if a shortcut is already used or have them all in his head.TeotiGraphix wrote:Tom, If you type the shortcut in the right input, you can see what is already assigned. And it didn't work either, so there needs to be either a warning or the system should execute both, which would be dangerous if you are not aware of it, so I actually see no alternative to an "already in use" message.
Cheers,
Tom
Edit: good news, Dom, thanks!

Or maybe a red-framed popup of the double (old) shortcut entry right under the new entry you want to make + a little popup warning? and then you can just let the new one like it is and click on 'override', just type in a new one or click on 'cancel'. I think grafically embedded would be more clear than an extra error message window.ThomasHelzle wrote:No, you don't miss anything, I just didn't think about it.
