bug no 2:

'preferences>shortcuts>controller'. i assigned 'toggle inspector' to a button on my controller. works well, but when i go back to the same 'preferences>shortcuts>controller', the midi message doesn't show up on the list but it is still active. see screenshots:

Just a reminder: send bug reports to beta@bitwig.com, including the required information just as explained in the mail.

Even though I reported it just now - I'd like to know how the hell can you not drag a midi clip onto an instrument track in Beta 4 !!!!!!!!! Does no one use Midi clips in Windows ??? How did that one slip through ?

Who tests this stuff ?

Post

maybe it´s just my laptop but anyway, could someone check if the Jack-Transport is running in time with the Bitwigs ? cause i detected a tiny delay of Jack-Transport.

Thanks

@Dom,Volker with the new Audition browser, the first thing i did miss was the pre-listen function of samples.... possible to get that in the browser ? :?:

*Edit* my fault, everything concerning the audition browser is cool and working.. xD

*edit* aiff samples work nicely on linux too, great :D. (but maybe it´s not working on my main host cause it is fedora based...)

The un-official answer is: you don't.
if you are worthy and lucky maybe you can get an invite to join the cave... ;)
Please don't spread misleading information, Regnas.
No worries, I just wanted to scare him... ;) it seems like I failed.... :(

Confirmed this doesn't work in B4. I rarely use midi clips and if I do i'm making them. didn't catch this one.

Is it possible to add own tags to VST files?
Then it would be quick to find VSTs matching certain category, like delays, bitcrushers or whatever tags each user wants to use.

Edit: yes, this seems to be possible with Browser's collection feature, not with tags like I thought.

A lot of things got tested, a lot of things got reported, not everything got fixed. We are only on beta 4, but it's come a hell of a long way from beta 1. We do have many fixes following feedback from all the testers. So you might want to tone down your anger, as it just pisses off people who have freely given their own time to test it out.

Yeah, this kind of tone is totally inadequate.
Betatesters are just users (like you) that try out what they usually do, not everything under the sun.
I think I maybe imported 5 midi clips (if at all) into Bitwig in all my time using it. It's just not something I do/use. Does that make me a bad person?
The early testers found many severe bugs, now there are more testers that will find more, but it's still the same beta 4, so even if things were reported for this one, they aren't fixed yet. Heck, I even have several things I reported even before the release of Bitwig Studio that aren't fixed yet...

And all those fellow users have a life, jobs, maybe go on vacation in summer...
So there is absolutely ZERO need to get all haughty and unfriendly.
Just relax, report the bug to support and hope it wil be fixed in Beta 5 or 6 :tu:

Let's all keep this a friendly place we can come to when we need help without fear of being shouted at.

Cheers,

Tom

That kind of attitude shows why people like you shouldn't beta test and endorses Bitwigs policy of semi closed betas. Unbelievable.

Couldn't have said it better, thanks Tom. :tu:

By the way - ithink i'm just being stupid but i can' seem to find a way to assign parameters via the colored dots anymore...i can see where to assign the macro knobs but where are the panel mappings (cogwheel icon in the bottom left corner of the device)?

Also: Bitwig now remembers its maximized state!
