That was unexpected - conquering the German market now?

:D
You wouldn't guess how many people write and even call our "not a hotline" to abuse us for being a German company without a German website and German manuals. Ok, most people ask politely, but about once in a while one of those angry guys has his fit.

In response to that, we're a pretty international company that simply happens to reside in Germany. The guy who writes our manuals is English. The guy who writes our website articles and newsletters is a Canadian.

Funny enough, for many products we have Italian, Spanish, French, Greek and even Russian manuals. Those were done by nice and enthusiastic people who sat down and translated these in return for a free copy of the software. No German has ever offered that, but also no-one from any the other country has ever abused us for not having a manual in his native tongue.

So now we bit the bullet. We have a guy who spends his idle time translating our user guides to German. For those who asked politely. Unfortunately though, the guy doesn't have much idle time. So, if any German would like to translate, say, Diva's manual to German in exchange for a license (any u-he plug-in of choice), please contact us. It's fun. Once you're done you know the plug-in inside out! :clown:

Dann möchte ich mich bei dem Übersetzer mal ganz herzlich bedanken!

Diva:

- The variance lights/buttons don't switch on.

- Once selected, preferences/midi/tools view won't switch off until the UI is refreshed.

- Phaser 'Center' doesn't appear to do anything. Am I missing something?

- Looks much crisper. :)

Projects in wich i use Satin now gets distorted in FL Studio 12.1.13 , unless:

I turn on "fixed size buffer" option or turn off base latency and turn on again (but after reloading its again distorted).

Urs, i noticed that if i dont use "use fixed size buffer" on most of your plugins in FL Studio i get different sound (i remember i told you this already that happens with Hive), is this is something that is possible to fix in future? My biggest problem is that in FL Studio the latency of plugins with this option on is not being compensated when rendering and if i turn off this option to have a proper render the sound is different then.

Another thing i noticed with Diva, seems that now it takes a little bit longer to load the plugin.
Here's what base Latency is about:

"If your host automatically sets the buffer size to a multiple of 16 samples, you can safely disable Hive’s own base latency setting here. If in doubt, leave at ‘16 samples’."

If you turn "use fixed buffer size" off in FL, there's going to be irregular buffer sizes such as 1 or 37. Those are not a multiple of 16, and thus you shouldn't switch Base Latency off. If you do you'll get crackles and distortion. I guess we should add that info to the user guide

I'd always recommend to keep a fixed buffer size for our stuff, but it still depends on the host if that fixed buffer size is a multiple of 16. Ableton Live for instance gives us an irregular buffer on a loop end no matter what, thus the option shoudln't be used in Live. It's a pity. Other hosts such as Logic keep going normally on a loop, there's no issue at all.

The sound differences are related to very fast modulations e.g. through the modmatrix. The update rate of the modmatrix depends on the overall size of the buffer as well, at least to some degree. A series of very short buffers will lead to a slightly higher resolution in modulations, which makes an audible difference on modulations that are nearly audio rate. It however also means more CPU. As a reference, we developed ACE and Bazille specifically to tackle audio rate modulation. Hive is flexible enough to get into that territory, but for it's CPU usage one shouldn't expect the same results as with ACE or Bazille.

Are you saying that Fruity Loops has no plug-in delay compensation with fixed buffer size? :o
Thanks for detailed explaination!

Yes it does not have delay compensation. Im not sure why, i did mentioned this quite some time ago when there was version 11, because some other plugins require this option to be on aswel (IK Multimedia Sampletank 3 ect). I hope there will be some update on this.

Yep, Urs mentioned removing the link:

Tyrell is delayed, not abandoned.

GREAT NEWS! Thanks for another huge update!
Btw. " Zebra's UI has been improved in parts, and the Unempty Dark Horse completed."
Is that mean that now all these two skins works the same way? Because early U-HE recommendate to use Original skin mostly. So now they are the same?

And also.. When you finally update the GUI of Zebra 2 for large displays? Because zoom size is not good. Looks turbid...

Yes, the Unempty Dark Horse should be feature complete now. For Zebra2, not for ZebraHZ of course.

A new skin for Zebra2 is in the works but it isn't ready yet. Also a gorgeous redesign for Uhbik and a revamp of Filterscape. Our UI artist is sweating blood and tears over this. We've even outsourced some work but still everything takes some time.

 if I may ask... with new functionality/dsp or just gui?

The mind boggles.

I'm seeing very slow load times for this new Zebra 2 when I insert it into a channel in Reaper 5 and Live 9, on OSX 10.10.5 - I suspected it was because I had too many skins so I moved them, then it loaded quickly as usual, with only the default skin and unempty dark horse in the themes folder.

It never did this before - is it pre-parsing the skins in the themes folder now?

That's entirely possible - I'll run some tests and see what's happening. I usually have no more than two skins installed.

Hehehe, there needs to be some things left to improve ;-)

That isn't entirely clear yet. I implemented a new phaser mode (small-stonish) for Uhbik-P some time ago and I'm seeking for an Arp Quadra. We've also upgraded our arsenal of reference reverbs (M7... and we might acquire a Yardstick on top). We've got new EQ algorithms, filters as well. We have even roughly outlined some effect we don't speak of. However, non of these developments have been followed up lately, we've been too busy with our workflow, our office move, our new project management software and this maintenance update. As always, it'll happen when it happens. I'm just really looking forward to get my fingers dirty in some deep R&D shit after this update. We might be able to leverage some of the Zebra3 development into the other plug-ins as well.

Yes I also noticed these latest revs load slower than usual...
