Modulator - make it a "one shot" instead of continuous?

Is it possible to make a modulator a "one shot event" triggered by a midi note? As a simple example, lets say I'm modulating a filter sweep. I have Modulator 1 set to normal and have turned on midi reset - re(trigger) to "note-on." However if I hold a long enough note the filter sweep starts over again.
Is it possible to make it so the filter sweep is a "one shot event" meaning it will not cycle but instead will go through its shape once and only trigger again when a midi new note is played?
p.s. your modulation videos are AWESOME!! I had no idea about all this power under the hood of your plugins!!! Mind Blown!

The shape isn't really the problem, its the fact the "playhead" (white line going through the modulator shape) is constantly going, when I only want it to start when I trigger a note and stop either when I've let go of the note and/or stops once its gone through its cycle once, whichever comes first. Does that make sense? (its hard to explain this stuff with words, haha!)

Yes, I understand. That is why I suggested the envelope. Because it is capable (using custom shape) of achieving the same shape as you need, however it is a one shot. So this will do what you want right?
