Peter, what happens to the old cabinets? can they be used from within AT4 as they are? or do they get "free upgrade" to the latest cab sim tech from AT4? do any of the models get dropped/updated (not only cabs, but amps, fx, stomps...)?

i think we will, because AT Fender got free mic positioning of AT3 for "free", but i'd like some confirmation from Peter/other IK reps on that.

AmpliTube 4 does not contain models from AmpliTube 3. What you already have will run in AmpliTube 4, though. More information about AmpliTube 4 can be found at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/amplitube4 as we've opened the pages this morning.

Basically, you get the 5 new Marshall amps and cabs, plus the new interface, and your old stuff will work in it. Seems fair, since the Mesa pack was 5 amps for $99, but here you also get the new gui, fx routing, cab room, etc.

I saw A4 and immediately pre-ordered. It didn't give me any loyalty bonus.

no, seriously: the ik website has always been one of the most non-transparent shops regarding the product information i've ever seen. i don't want to doubt the quality of the software, since it surely is pretty top notch. but WHY THE HECK isn't it possible to just add a simple list or table with every piece of gear that's included in the BASIC FULL version??? i know that there is the custom shop and that it holds a sh*tload of great gear that can be purchased afterwards. but before i even consider to buy anything i just want to know what i get with the initial purchase! this can't be so hard to implement on a website, can it?

again, no offense to the folks at ik - i just feel that the website/presentation is a shame for those obviously good products. this not only concerns amplitube but pretty much every software with custom shop or other expansion capabilities...

If you have gear from AmpliTube Custom Shop / AmpliTube 3 and purchase AmpliTube 4 that gear and cabinets will work in the AmpliTube 4 cab section. You can use all of the new features including swapping speakers where available (cabinets with 12" speakers). I just threw a couple of Greenbacks into an Orange 212, for example.
