You will be able to run your current gear in AmpliTube 4. There is no "CS version" (if you mean a free version) at this time (though AmpliTube 4 does have Custom Shop) so let's take it one step at a time.
Cool, thanks. I do hope you guys reconsider just releasing the CS shell without amps and gear for free. It would be more consistent with the other product lines. And here's hoping T-Racks effects can one day be hosted by Amplitube.

Oh one more question: will Amp 3 users be able to still buy new gear in the CS, will new models continue to be compatible with v3? Or is every release now v4 only?

Sorry I should clarify now with more details available - there will be an AmpliTube 4 CS that is free but it will not contain the new amps, the looper, the acoustic sim, and other features will be limited. It will have the same free gear as current AmpliTube CS does, and you can upgrade to full AmpliTube 4 for the full feature set and new gear.

A couple of questions (and sorry if they've already been answered):

1. What amps are included? I'm a little confused after reading some of the posts here and even after looking on the site.

2. Is there an upgrade price from something like Amplitube Fender (which I have)? $99 is good, but I'd like to get an upgrade price if I could

And thanks for your patience Peter. I think IKM doesn't always get it right, but you have to sit here and take over the top crap from a lot of people when all you're trying to do is help out.

Check your account, it will show when you registered AT3. I registered AT 3 Metal in Feb 2013 and I'm not even sure that AT Metal would have qualified anyway. I've gotten so many great deals from IK over the years I can't complain......well I can complain as I'm really good at it but I don't see any justification this time around.....

Yes.. but 4 GB is standard on the low end systems these days.. RAM is cheap.

In the absence of an actually upgrade path, it was a nice gesture.

I'm on the fence for the time being, though if past is prologue...

As for bargains: I'm one of the "dopes" that got most of the many IK plugins I have early and therefore paid "full price" for most of them. Even so, it's been a hell of a lot less $$ than my prized microphones cost.

You don't have to buy a new computer; upgrade your system RAM.

1. The five new amps are included - see http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/am ... at4cs-gear You also get the current set of gear that is free with AmpliTube Custom Shop.

2. There is no specific upgrade price. Those who have registered AmpliTube 3 before September 2012 have had 20 bonus JamPoints placed into their accounts since yesterday morning. Other purchases do get you JamPoints so if you have made other purchases, please check your account and you can use those JamPoints toward the AmpliTube 4 preorder (up to 30%).

but that kind of thing just a small part of the larger discussion that happens here. I'm glad I can clarify some of the question asked and points made, including yours, and I also relay any confusion or concerns so that it can be made more clear overall going forward.

How much of that extra RAM is due to OS changes since the Pentium 4 was common ? I don't think you could even run Win 7 64 bit on gig of RAM could you ?

Amplitube 4 is here!!!!! ......well almost.....
