Slightly off topic, but ye... question re IKM regions and pricing: I'm in New Zealand, and 99.99% of the time things are priced in USD for me, however, in the IKM shop it's in Euro (which is more expensive for me due to currency conversion). How are the pricing zones decided? Is it automatic via the website (IKM use to be priced in USD for me and then one day I logged in and it was Euro, what gives?)?

Who is complaining about AT4 using more resources ? Am I reading the wrong thread ?braj wrote:It would be pretty lame if developers didn't make use of more powerful processors as time goes by. Of course they should optimize as much as possible, but I see no issue with new software requiring more resources.

Can you only purchase credits in the bundles in the custom shop? I only want 10 credits more (I have 90 and need 10 for amplitude 4). But it seems like the smallest amount I can purchase is 25. But I don't want to pay25 dollars when I only need 10. Is this not possible?

That's what I thought too, but he just said on Gearslutz that there will be a free Amplitude 4 Custom Shop and that it WILL load gear you already own, and will offer SOME of the cab room functionality (I'm guessing no speaker swapping). There will be no ultra tuner, fewer DAW mode tracks, and no new amps/effects. I'm inclined to just upgrade to the free version since I could care less about anything they added except the cab room.Teksonik wrote:Did I miss something ? Last I read Peter said there would not be a free version of AT4....at least not right away.braj wrote:So, is the cab room included with the free version, and if not, can that be unlocked separately? If it isn't, what will a free user see for cabinets? Same question regarding the tuner and other features (I'm thinking just in case I don't buy 4 outright, maybe I can get a few of its features piecemeal.
More specifics on this would be appreciated.

Actually the new Tuner interests me. Don't need the Marshalls.........Speaker rooms would be nice. Speaker replacement......might be nice.

Huh ? Wait.......you're in the wrong thread or you're complaining ? Someone was saying something about it using more ram, though at this point they are just specs often defined my the business to avoid dealing with issues, not necessarily that resource needs have changed. It could be IK said 1 gb ram for v3 was good but time showed more resources were needed. Maybe it will be just about the same.Teksonik wrote:Huh ? I hope they'll be some updated Fenders or some other goodies at some point. The Mesas and the Marshals are all very well, but some action at the other end of the spectrum would be great!

No, All Fender Amps should be set on fire and pushed off a bridge........Twrogstudio wrote:I hope they'll be some updated Fenders or some other goodies at some point. The Mesas and the Marshals are all very well, but some action at the other end of the spectrum would be great!
Isn't there an entire Fender Collection available for AT 3 already ?

Version 3 specs also said Pentium 4 so I think things have moved along a bit since then.....braj wrote:It could be IK said 1 gb ram for v3 was good but time showed more resources were needed. Maybe it will be just about the same.
I've never actually given any thought to AT 3 resources. Doesn't seem to be hungry at all. Sampletank 3 on the other hand can consume a healthy chunk of memory with just an empty preset. I assume that might have something to do with "pre-loading" to cut down on sample load times but I could well be wrong.

Sure, but my experience tells me QA and support want to support the fewest OS configs. QA will likely push to only support a couple OS cycles (especially ones still supported by Microsoft themselves), and that may be the thing that is defining RAM. XP AFAIR needed about 1GB to be happy, Win 7 needs at least 4GB really, so if v3 supported XP, the 1GB RAM minimum may be more tied to that necessity than Amplitube's own needs. It has been a long time since I worked on projects to determine what specs are required, but that would be my best guess. I don't think they overhauled the whole codebase, they added and changed some components, but I don't see what is radically different to warrant that much increase in resource requirements.Teksonik wrote:

My point: I wouldn't worry too much about having to buy a new computer or even RAM to run A4.
