Oh Ok after reading your post above I was going to ask what your point was.......... :hihi:

I'm not worried in the least bit about having the resources to run AT4. I'm not even sure who brought it up in the first place or why. Like I said I've never considered AT3 to be resource hungry and don't expect AT4 to any different....at least not significantly so.

Man, I do wish we could use all our jam points. I would pre-order right now if I could.

A few more questions:

(a) is the Hyper-realistic Tone of AT4 provided by (implemented in) the gear models or by the AT4 engine?
(b) (related to (a)), which gear models will provide the Hyper-realistic Tone in AT4?
-- the gear new for AT4 only and none of the AT3/legacy gear?
-- all of the AT3/legacy gear?
-- some of the AT3/legacy gear? (If so what defines which ones?)
(c) will the new Gear models be available in the Custom Shop (for AT3 licensees)?
(d) will future new Gear models run in AT3 or only in AT4?
(e) will all the AT3 presets be loadable into AT4?
(f) and what is the process?
(g) what difference will I notice when running an AT3 gear model or preset in AT4?
(h) what does AT4 Custom Shop (i.e. the free edition, when available) provide over and above AT3 Full?

Phew! ;)

if only there were a thread where all of those answers were already provided.

Let's see if I can quickly summarize

combination of new amps, but primarily it's the new cab simulation
(b) (related to (a)), which gear models will provide the Hyper-realistic Tone in AT4?

All gear will be the same other than how it interacts with the new cabs
(c) will the new Gear models be available in the Custom Shop (for AT3 licensees)?
No
(d) will future new Gear models run in AT3 or only in AT4?
Peter hedged this answer. Probably they don't know all possible solutions yet.
(e) will all the AT3 presets be loadable into AT4?
yes
(f) and what is the process?
same as now
(g) what difference will I notice when running an AT3 gear model or preset in AT4?
cabs
(h) what does AT4 Custom Shop (i.e. the free edition, when available) provide over and above AT3 Full?
nothing yet

Not sure what I think at this point. The jampoints... well, it covers the VAT, so the pre-order would be about €83- for me. I'll probably sit it out until a better sale comes along. I do fine with A3 and Scuffham Amps (which are continuously upgraded gratis). So, it is a bit of a hyper-meh for me, right now.

Well it's hard for anyone to tell for sure before we try the demo. On paper it looks like a very cool update......or new plugin to be more precise as it doesn't over write AT3.

I suppose after trying the demo we'll be "Oh that's awesome I must have it now" or "Meh I can wait" or "Meh No thanks".....:hihi:

At this point I think I'll be in the first group but only time....and the demo...will tell...... :tu:

Here's a question.... No grandfather or discount for those of us that jumped on Mesa Boogie? It would seem fitting that we got some AT4 features, no?

AT3 free was nice which included all the free gear, at least 1 new amp would have been nice with AT4...

Also, having a new+old version of the same amp might be a mistake as some are worried already with the new features AT might be getting bloated, very unnecessary to keep old versions...
You will also get the free amps (and other applicable gear - 9 Stomps, 4 Amplifiers, 5 cabinets, 3 mics, 2 rack effects) that are currently included with AmpliTube Custom Shop but not the new amps. You can get those amps & cabs + the great new features + the acoustic sim + UltraTuner for the same price as just the 5 amps & cabs in the AmpliTube MESA/Boogie collection.

Seriously, you guys can't read? The amp model will run in AT4, so you will get all the features. No grandfather needed.

Just to point out, that until 16 September if you buy credit packs you get bonus credits, number depends on how many you buy.
I got 100 credit pack and a bonus of 20, was able to use jam points on them and then pre ordered AT4 for 100 credits, so 20 credits to use on something else.

Only 4 days left though !

Hi,

I didn't see an upgrade path for those that own AT3 full. I see there is a preorder price of $99.99 usd. Is there no way to get some kind of a discount for buying the full package ahead of time? I bought AT3 on mega sale recently but would feel kind of ripped to pay again when I could have just waited to pay the same price a new user would pay.

There isn't an upgrade price. You can apply the JamPoints you received for recent purchases like AmpliTube 3, and if you'd like to use Gear Credits we also have a promotion on those currently (for a few more days at least): http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/news.php?id=572

If you pay the same as a new user (though you wouldn't since you have JamPoints from your recent purchase to apply toward AmpliTube 4), you should note that the new users do not have the full set of all the gear from AmpliTube 3 but you do and it will run in AmpliTube 4 (as well as taking advantage of the new features of course).

Fair enough. Thanks for the straightforward response, Peter! I'm going to go ahead and use the credits that I just bought in the promotion now :tu:

So, if I read this right, all of the AT3 mics and cabs will be able to be used in the new Cab Room...with full placement adjustability? If so, can we mix in the new speakers into the old AT3 cabs too?
