I know. It's true though. I see the sale and by the time I get paid and ready to buy, it's gone  Hey does anyone know of a good online "effects" psychiatrist ? I'm feeling a little overexposed :borg:
Whew, glad you clarified. I was thinking my 4,300+ posts should have been enough but was ready to get caffeinated and hit the next level! :)
You mean you were about to go plaid? :o

Isn't that just a bit faster than ludicrous speed?

After long and careful considerations, I've decided not to upgrade to Amplitube 4 in the immediate future. My reason is quite simple; AT4 is now offered as a 64 bit plugin ONLY, no more 32bit version. Which means that unlike Amplitube 3, I will not be able to use AT4 on any of my 32bit Windows PCs. I have four 32bit Windows PCs (W8 tablets, W7 netbook, WXP desktop) and AT3 works fine on all of them. And since only my "main" PC has Windows 7 64bit, using Amplitube 4 would severely limit my choices. Yes I do my main work on my main PC (which is 64bit) but I often practice/jam/compose small demos on my other PCs (all 32bits)

So I wonder why IKM has chosen to offer only a 64bit version? It greatly limits the number of PCs able to handle AT4 (most of those small W7/W8 tablets/notebook comes with 32bit version) Now, I could understand if Amplitube 4 was a sampler player (like SampleTank3) that absolutely NEEDS to handle/use large amount of memory, but AT4 is "only" an effect, similar to Stealth Limiter (which BTW, comes in both 64bit and 32bit) Granted, because AT4 use some IR files, it will use a fair amount of memory, but nothing like the amount a sampler player needs to handle, thus I'm pretty sure AT4 could also have been offered in 32bit version, but alas no, just a 64bit version

Of course, in time, all of my PCs will either have been upgraded to 64bit or I will get newer PCs with 64bit OSs but this may take quite some time. So no AT4 for me ATM. Fortunately, I'm very happy with my AT3 collections (Mesa Boogie/Orange/etc) so I doubt I'll be missing AT4 very much :)

You'd better get used to 64 bit only versions as time goes on not just from IK but from other developers as well. The need to code and support 32 bit versions requires resources and as the "32 bit only" user base dwindles so will motivation to provide 32 bit versions. I imagine there might be technical reasons beside RAM size for just having 64 bit versions but only those who write the code can address that question.

You're right that the world is moving forward 64bit only versions, but whenever possible, I believe developers should offer 32bit versions as well. There are still way too many PCs that comes with 32bit OS; basically, most of the small form factor PCs (tablets/netbooks) are 32bits. Once the vast majority of PCs come pre-installed with 64bit OSs, then developers can slowly stop offering 32bit versions. I believe many developers understand this (i.e. NI's Kontakt is a SamplerPlayer that can require huge amount of memory, yet it's still been offered in 32bit)

What I find really ironic in IKM's case is that for so long they've "resisted" updating SampleTank (which really needed 64bit) from 32bit to 64bit, and now they have done a 180 degree shift and have started to offer "64bit only" versions of their stuff (SampleTank3/AT4) Anyway, like I said, eventually I'll have all of my PCs with 64bit OSs and then I won't have any issues with "64bit only" plugins. I just wanted IKM to know why I won't be upgrading to AT4 anytime soon.

Thanks for letting us know why, I will relay this to the team.

W've posted a new video - more of a trailer but should give a good abbreviated idea of what's there. I've also relayed the requests for clarity on the "Gear" page for AmpliTube 4 too, FYI. Thank you.

Is the looper only available in stand alone mode?
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

Who would use a Tablet or Netbook to run Amplitube ? What kind of latency could you get ? Or for that matter who would use a Toyblet for any serious production ?

Anyway all I'm saying is get used to 64 bit only plugins. As time goes on you'll see more and more of them and not just from IK.........

Had some Jam Points. Had some Gear Credits.
Now I'll have me some Amplitube 4.

Intrigued by the new ability to play with Rooms, Cabs and Speakers.

I still do not know or understand what people actually do in music with Toyblets,
i find it seriously funny, unprofessional and probably...ugghhh...i would throw it out the window.

Is this pre-order teasing really successful for IKM :? I find it mildly annoying to go through all of this hype and lead up to some mysterious date in October. Why not just release it when ready? Well, I guess they have their reasons

Relax, when it comes out you'll get to wait again with the inevitable bugs that a first release already has :hihi:

@Trailer:

Seriously, some group of guys playing something that sounds like everything else and a few flashby pics.

When released everyone will be like "OMG it's the greatest ever" and then some people will say "it's not that great" and there will be some shoot-outs and then people will ask if it's x128 then more waiting for that and and ..
