Yep, that's the real danger in setting a release date, they could be forced to release something that is not stable. But here's hoping the release date was projected a couple weeks after the release candidate is thoroughly tested. All software will have some bugs, but there is not good reason it needs to be buggy at 1.0.

Can't wait either. Does anybody else think that Aplitube1 (yes that little old plugin) was the one that had most soul to its sound?

if by soul you mean a thin, crinkly soul surrounded by fuzz and sounding like it's screaming through a pillow kind of soul sound .. yes, it had more of that.

funny thing about amplitube 1, back in the day i didn't have a guitar and was playing around with free soundfonts and amplitube 1, revalver 1 and guitar rig 2. revalver sounded like sound was coming from the toilet. guitar rig sounded very digitally. amplitube 1 sounded the best by far - there was something in it that kind of made the sound better than it really was. my suspicion is that guitar rig was just giving me an honest representation of my "guitar" (which sucked, and sounded understandably digital), while amplitube was kinda spicing it up.

I have not been closely following this thread, so I apologize in advance if this has been asked and answered.

I went to the Custom Shop last night to purchase the pre-order of AT4. I have enough gear credits to purchase it, but I would also like to use the 20 Jampoints I got for being an AT3 user. Is there a way to do this? I didn't see a way to accomplish this.

I assume it can be done since the only "upgrade" discount is the jampoints.

Also, is there a definite release date?

I'm pretty sure that you cannot mix JamPoints and Gear Credits on the same purchase. Buy some more Gear Credits with the JamPoints (plus some cash)?

The only release date that I've seen is "October" - so it might be the 1st or it might be the 31st.

You guys are having some issues with logic, DarkStar's comment insinuated the release date wouldn't be till 2016 or later, 'October' alone being non-specific, and in that case Peter's comment made total sense.

Correct, anybody that didn't get the joke - see braj's message above. The joke isn't all that complex to follow

Cliffs Notes version:

"Har har! But you didn't say what year!" (implies that it may not be 2015)

"That means I (IK employee already using AmpliTube 4) would have another year to use it until 2016!" (implying that it is usable now, and sucks to be anybody who wants to use it but does not get to for another year)
