Howard & hakey & others,
After experimenting for about 45 minutes and reading the Diva instruction manual a lot, these are the only ways I could pan the oscillators:
1. They would always be panned a consistent amount on every note (oscillator 1 could be panned left and oscillator 2 could be panned right).
2. Every time you play a note (doesn't matter which note you play, even the same note over and over), it pans a certain amount with each new note.
The one thing I was not able to do is: have low pitch notes panned on the left, midrange notes center panned, and high notes panned to the right (all happening gradually with pitch).

"aaron - It's ridiculously simple: Go to the TRIMMERS panel and adjust all VOICE MAP MODULATOR values. Then go to the MAIN tab and select 'VoiceMap' as your Pan Mod source, turn it up..."
I suspect you tried using StackIndex instead of VoiceMap... you wrote "oscillator 1 could be panned left and oscillator 2 could be panned right", which is impossible in Diva. So I guess you meant "Voice 1 could be panned left and voice 2 could be panned right".
Forget stacking for now. Modulate Pan with "VoiceMap", and you can't go wrong. Good luck!
