I wouldnt go as far. AFAIC, GR has much more potential then Amplitube. Amplitube is much longer on the market, and thanks to kind people like Lady J, there are some presets that are showing the better side of it. However, Amplitube has much more od "digital" within and sometimes it sounds like those '80 digital effect units (think Zoom and similar crap). OTOH, GR is still missing high gain amp models and it definately is not software worth 400 USD, at least for now. But, if you're located in Nashville and playing coutry GR kicks some serious assMidiworks wrote:
No, not at all, NI Guitar Rig is crap for $400,
a total waste of money for the one who buys it.
Amplitube is way better, closer to the real thing
and still not that great.
Let me put it this way,luka2807 wrote:I wouldnt go as far. AFAIC, GR has much more potential then Amplitube. Basicly, I can agree with you. BUT, you cant create your own style if you do not have techique. You have to learn as much as possible about how other artists are creating their own music, and then you are ready to find your trade mark sound. There are many people using "originality" as an excuse for not having technique. You have to agree that it is much easier for i.e. Dimitar to find his own "sound" then for some "cool artist" to gather the skills Dimitar has.Sascha Franck wrote:The question is: Does one need to compete with Steve Vai instead of coming up with something original?
I agree, Dimitar is playing VERY well, I miss something original though, you can tell by every note where he's coming from.
But then, it's not that easy to sound original. One should at least try though.
