Technical notes wrt designing a MU knob:
- A MU knob's source picture needs to be grayscale except for the pixels that must be recolored to the target color (which may be theme or front panel dependent), these should be in shades of red. The redish pixels will be replaced by the target color. Example: Lets say the target color is pure green, then a pure red pixel will become pure green, and half grey-red pixel will become half grey-green. It's like changing the 'Hue' parameter:

- Eventhough the current M6 knob.png uses a 32 pixels size, note that this may/will be changed to a 64 or even 128 pixels size. Not decided on that yet, but please take it into account and keep/share your source files so that the knob can be rerendered in another size.
- A full knob picture strip is recommended to have 65 states, organized vertically, going from value 0% = 225° to value 100% = 315°. See:
http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/common ... e-knob.png - Also make a bidirectional version of the knob: It also has 65 states, organized vertically, but going from value -100% = 225° via value 0% = 90° to value 100% = 315°. See:
See http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/common ... -bidir.png - When you're designing a new knob and you want to quickly try out any new edits you did while MuLab / MUX Modular is active, then you can use the "Reset Graphic Resources" function to reload the updated knob.png picture file. This "Reset Graphic Resources" is only accessible via a shortcut though so first assign a shortcut key to this function (only needs to be done once) then you can always press that key to reload all graphic files and see any recent changes you saved to the graphics file.
- Because a knob strip is organized vertically (currently 32x2080 pixels), it's recommended to share a link to such knob strip instead of really including the picture in the post cause otherwise the posts get much too long. Maybe i'll also add support for horizontal organization but until then best use links. Of course it's ok to show a single knob state as a 32x32 or 64x64 or 128x128 knob picture.
- Please also share the source files for the knobs so they can be edited and rerendered when necessary.
