Well, I have always had glitches ocassionally while running Multicore mode on my desktop PC, small pops and cracks while playing DIva. Just now are pretty much there all the time, if I turn multicore off they are gone, but obviously CPU use almost doubles.Urs wrote:Well, wait... the glitches are expected at the moment of switching back and forth.rod_zero wrote:Time to upgrade for me. I wouldn't expect a quad core i5 to glitch with one or two instances of Diva or Bazille though. Not sure.
Nevertheless, I think that i7s are way to go.
If I remeber correctly I think you specified the multicore feature is supported for processor from Sandy bridge onwards (Core gen two), mine is generation one. I think other user confirmed he also got glitches while using multicore mode some time ago, also with a pre Sandy bridge Core i CPU.
So my CPU by now is a little bit old and maybe a many people are either on sandy bridge or on a core2duo so maybe this doesn't come around often, I am going to update for sure this christmas to a laptop with an i74th or 5th gen anyway.
But would be nice if it was clearer which CPUs support multicore.
By the way, does Diva and bazille use virtual cores (HT) or just physical cores?
