No high pass and low pass EQ filters? Would be nice to have that for the cabs. It really sucks that you can't at least try the Amplitube 4 features for a bit prior to purchase. Mainly would be nice to play around with the new cab sim to see if it actually sounds better in use. Would also be cool to be able to just load your own IRs in to the cab sim if you'd like instead of using the provided ones.

I dunno, the upgrade cost me $70? I'm quite pleased despite my earlier posts, I love the cabinets, look forward to the looper once I get a footfoot pedal for it. I don't care for Marshall amps, I do wish they had done a "Cream" release with a few choice amps from different categories. But then, I'm pretty happy with the amps I have and they sound better through the new cabs, at least I feel like I have more conception of what I'm changing and feel more tuned in so get the sounds better and faster, I dunno. But it's working ☺

I can't hear any difference at all. Sounds just like Amplitube 3 to me. It looks cool and I like Amplitube 3...so it's not the end of my world.

Has anyone tried AT3 after installing AT4? AT3 crashes on startup here now.
It's strange, I had the same problem a bit ago after my audio interface got wonky after a bad firmware update, since fixed. IK support told me to uninstall AT, and delete everything containing 'Amplitube 3' out of the Windows registry, then reinstall, and that worked, it was fine after that. Now I install AT4, and it's horked again. Not ideal...

That sounds like maybe both apps were running at the same time. Was that the case? They may both be fighting for the same sound card. I've loaded both stand alone and in a DAW and had no problems.

I tried only a few amps but I think only the models from initial Amplitube 3 amps sounds the same.(Vox ac30 for example)clintmartin wrote:I can't hear any difference at all. Sounds just like Amplitube 3 to me. It looks cool and I like Amplitube 3...so it's not the end of my world.
But then custom shop models do sound different.(Fender, Orange and etc.)

I gotta think they are different, I haven't a/b 'd them but they have different possibilities, A3 doesn't have separate volume for each mic from what I remember, just for me the mixer is a great help, and I'm guessing it will take some experience setting up mics, cabinets, speakers and room mics to really know the capabilities of A4. And sometimes differences are just something subtle the player notices that helps their performance, and definitely for me the ui is better to visualize the room. It just feels altogether a more pleasant part of the app to hang out.

Amplitube 4 is very underwhelming is all I can say, Installation and all went fine, authorization went fine, it picked up all my Amplitube 3 stuff, of which I have everything, but it just don't have no mojo, major let down. Certainly not in the same class as BIAS Amp Pro or BIAS FX Pro, but then not much is at this point.

The new Mesa collection and the new Brits are stunningly good. I haven't touched bias in weeks. I wish I could sell it!

Thanks for jumping in braj, but no, they weren't both running. I had just taken a quick look at AT4, didn't have time to play through it at all, just launch it and look, then quit it and opened AT3, blam, died. Tried again, same.braj wrote:That sounds like maybe both apps were running at the same time. Was that the case? They may both be fighting for the same sound card. Guess I'll have to go through the same uninstall-reg-clean-reinstall cycle again if I care about keeping AT3 running, which I'm not sure I do. I've imported all my "legacy" presets from it into AT4 (a tad awkward, that, if you have multiple folders worth, which I did), and no saved projects using it that I care about, so maybe just using AT4 is fine. OTOH, it should be possible to have them both, s I'll probably try to get it back when I have a chance.

I was surprised: several stomps are not available as an insert or rack effect (e.g. distortions). Also, when I right-click an insert or rack stomp effect to access the model presets, the legacy presets I imported--which are available in the stomps secton--are not available. Why not? How can I get to those presets?

heh, sorry ..that was an attempt at humor that obviously went awry. It was more of a jab at the folks struggling to understand how the old stuff integrates into the new stuff. Obviously I didn't use enough smiley faces around it to offset the bad joke.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:There is no noise during a proper demo (one that has Custom Shop open in the background while demoing).SJ_Digriz wrote:will the distorted tone that comes in every 30 seconds while using the demo use the new amps and cabs?
I'm telling you it was hilarious in my head.
