when you say I won't have some of the new features, what do you mean exactly? Are the new features implemented with old models I already paid for or only in the new models that come with AT4? In other words...if I upgrade to AT4, so all of my old gear models suddenly gain new functionality or sound in some way that is not the case with running them AT4 custom shop?

or are these new features basically just in the new gear models and then I can either buy those individually and have the features, or upgrade the whole thing to AT4 to get those new features in those models?

You can run your AmpliTube 3 and Custom Shop gear in AmpliTube 4 Custom Shop. You will not have the new amps nor many of the new features of the full AmpliTube 4 in this scenario.

OK, so Earlier I didn't know I could restore my gear into 4..it's a little better that I just did this. Why does it say that A4 must be registered in 8 days though, if I can just keep it as a platform for my gear, minus the new features?

Download A4 and install it ..it doesn't allow you to do anything new with it. No new cab room, no new models (of course) and no insert effects

Post

^ check that, there's a slight work around for the new cab room, you can move and change mics on the old interface and then switch to the new cab room and they will be changed..but without a working mixer it's kind of hard to tell what the new cab room is capable of. *EDIT: nevermind, I think its just a picture of the new room, hard to tell if it's even doing anything

I went ahead and upgraded. I guess the main advantage of AT4, aside from the included amp and cab models (and acoustic guitar emulator pedal), is that we can build custom cabs, swapping out the actual speakers used inside the cab, can't do that on the CS version as far as I can tell.

^nice. I'm holding out on it for a bit. It does have the new rooms in the old selection window though. cheers :)

My real cab is a mix of vintage 30 and another one, I can't remember the exact model right now. The different speakers compliment each other really well and I always get compliments. I like the idea of doing this with AT4, though you could probably get close by using two cabs anyway...but this way I can play with the specific speakers...so I like it. I don't know if that was worth the $69 it cost me to upgrade, but I did get a few amps and cabs...no guitar to play now, will try them later.

I can hear a difference in the low end. A3 is muddier down there. I'll purchase when I can, but I'll have to wait for now. I tested out some of the new settings with a Tiny Terror and got better results with A4.

OK, I authorized it Peter. When it asked me to upgrade custom shop, it didn't give me a new authorization code. I had to go back and do the download again, from the main web page so that it would give me the code to put in. I'm happy with the way you've done it now, it's a bit confusing but it's good :tu:

At the risk of being told that this has been covered infinitum in earlier pages I have one question. As an upgrader from AT3 it appears I have access to everything I hoped for (all my Slash, Orange, ENGL purchases etc) including the AT3 content. Is this the same as the Deluxe version?

I think Deluxe is AT4 plus AT3, so that wouldn't include Slash, Orange, Engl. So you're ahead of the game!

I really want to like AT4 but just feel that they could have done so much more to make it a better stand alone all in one power house package. Still for pure amp tones AT is very good in my opinion. I use the Orange Rockerverb and the Mesa MK IV the most for higher gain stuff and they both sound great.

Is there a manual for Amplitube 4? I'm trying to look up how to import my saved presets from AT3 to AT4 but cannot seem to find an actual pdf manual on my computer.
My progressive rock band - free demos here!! (and if you do listen please let me know what you think!) http://www.aeonsatori.com/news/free-downloads

From the AT4 presets menu - select import legacy presets..then direct it to where your AT3 presets are..I chose not to import the old factory presets because they are already relisted in AT4...I just grabbed what I needed from the folder selection screen. I can't find the manual either though. *edit: you may be able to just manually move your AT3 folder over to the AT4 preset folder. The import is working for me but the program is hanging.

How's the Acoustic guitar simulation? Useable? Audio demos sounded alright but still was kind of uncertain. Guess I was looking for that full bodied acoustic sound.
