No thoughts? Anyone? Peter?

OK, BTW, its funny how uninformative developer can be when not bothering mention this (the IK user information sucks, e.g. haven't got any info concerning the AT4, only mail was selling letter concerning the AT4+Mesa $199, I think the present owners should get info of the updates).

One thing I noticed when running through the logic of the preset browser not fixed, I mentioned of this already in AT2, it seems to the deaf ears: if you choose some parameter, e.g. the type of sound 'clean', you get those presets to the browser list - but when you want go through those sounds, you have to pick up one by one, using the arrow has other logic. Very slow and complicated.

And is there any way to avoid those AT "warnings" that the user has chosen a preset which includes stuff ge hasn't bought? E.g. option "no preset warning" or alternative "dont list presets which include software not owned".

Is it me or is the default input gain a bit low?

Yes, I filed a bug a couple days ago, no reply yet.

It's not just the default that low, input gain is so low I can't compensate completely by turning up the global input volume all the way. You'd have to adjust the gain of every patch too.

My original post to the IK forum and followup about the bug I filed is here:
http://cgi.ikmultimedia.com/ikforum/vie ... =5&t=10983

Hopefully this will get fixed, but doing that would change everyone's AT4 presets. Most "correct" thing might be a global setting to increase the gain, so you could decide to do that if you were ready to adjust all your AT4 patches.

As noted in that post, there's at least one other gain/volume oddity, different stomp gain on the A and B pages with identical settings. According to my testing, it was like that in AT3 too, but I didn't notice. That's even harder to fix without changing people's patches, but it's really weird and unfortunate.

No sooner had I sent that reply than I got an email from IK support, funny.

They just said nobody else had reported this, which I told them wasn't true, and asked me to try it in a DAW, which I will but can't now (I'm at work, shouldn't be writing this either...). They apparently didn't try it themselves yet, or the different stomp volumes thing, hopefully they will. Both are pretty obvious.

There are now only presets, not patches. You an assign presets to MIDI program changes in the MIDI panel (click the MIDI button near the bottom right). Once you assign them, you can see your program change --> preset mapping in the dropdown immediately left of the preset dropdown (there's a grey divider line between the two areas). Hope that helps.

Thanks Peter, very helpful, will check it out this evening hopefully.

Is that also where you set up controller assignments to stomp switches and controls?

Guess I should RTFM, huh :)

Is there a 'fm?' I haven't seen one.

On Windows, this menu item exists:
Start menu > All Programs > IK Multimedia > Amplitube 4 > Amplitube 4 User Manual

But the actual file doesn't.

In the directory where that shortcut thought it was, I found...
What's New in AmpliTube 4.pdf - very short, no mention of the above MIDI stuff
AmpliTube 3 User Manual.pdf - full manual, but obviously nothing about new AT 4 stuff like that

So I guess no, there is no fm. Unfortunate, especially in cases like this where you'd actually want to read (parts of ) it.

I haven't installed 4.0.1 yet, so maybe they snuck it in? If not, pretty please, IK?

I think should be possible to use 1,2,3 or 4 microphones on ONE Speaker! :)

Just a quick update on my situation with already having the Mark IV single in CS.
Burillo was indeed correct that existing gear purchases are not credited towards the purchase of a package that the gear is already in.

However... after reading Peter's suggestions to a couple others in this thread, I opened a ticket with IK's support, explained my situation and what I was asking for very clearly, and they took care of me. And quickly too. Turnaround was only a couple hours for me. So now I have AT4 and the whole Mesa pack--didn't pay a single credit on redundant gear--and I am very pleased with with the new version thus far.

So my experience with the product and with IK's customer support has been excellent. Just sharing my experience to hopefully provide a bigger picture to those still on the fence about customer support or other obscure issues like mine.

Sounds great, listened to more of your SoundCloud stuff, also very cool, not just the guitar tone, but the playing and the vibe of the whole thing.

Good luck to you!
