I've been secretly eyeing it up, on and off for years, but surprisingly have never tried it. I have to admit, it looks really good. It's one of the very few DAW's I don't have.Compyfox wrote:But seriously, have you tried Reaper?!

It does import everything from v8...it didn't for you?rustman wrote:I wish it had inherited my preferences from v.8. I just spent a long time setting it up, making my project template again, figuring out the color scheme, etc.
After that though, I think it rocks so far. Really love being able to import tracks from other projects in seconds! I haven't gotten far yet, but I'm pleased. Looking forward to checking out R2.
are you on mac or pc?

Cubase 7.5 had this problem. Only way to sokve it is to run it as administrator. Cubase 8 solved this.Keith99 wrote:Could well be but it never happened prior to 8.5. TBF I have not tested it much yet

I don't get it.
Should I pay $50 to get some bugs fixed?!
And have a bunch of new bugs introduced?
And what about the UX that should have been fixed a decade ago?
No way, stoney.
Now, why don't you go get some investors so you can afford a competent QA-team with some balls?
And then, maybe in a few years or so, I will take another look at your products.
OK?

And here I thought you get the "Reaper joke" (running gag on KVR), but apparently this can go several ways.

Cubase 8.5 is actually Cubase 13.6
Cubase VST32 5.1 got released in 2001, and then for some reason other along came 2002 and Steinberg decided to start with Cubase 1.0 all over again

It's definitely possible, it's how I used it on 8. The way I understand it,bundoo wrote:Anyone know how I can see my own file system in the new media bay side bar on the project page....I'm not interested in tagging etc...just wanna browse samples from my own folders....how can this be done? Cheers
Video: (right click, open link in new tab) https://www.dropbox.com/s/nq8o3fgj2dfrn ... y.mp4?dl=0
1) Go to the full media bay (F5) and on the left column you should see your directories. Navigate to the folder you want it to scan.
2) If you can't see your file directory you need to click on the little window layout button at the bottom left of this media bay window, or press shift+F2 and then tick "define locations".
3) Once you've got to the right folder(s), tick the box next to it to tell Cubase to scan it's contents.
4) At the top of this column it says "Define locations", click the Add button and name the location, this will now available from the drop down menu when you load up the new rack media bay.
5) Finally, if you have folders within folders and you want to see them, there is a little icon in the shape of a folder in the mediabays. It's called "deep results" Click it.
6)

Seems as if Steiny is going the way of Sonar here in the bug fix/new bug system.

For almost a decade now as well, btw.
Don't know why it took people so long to realize - but it's good to actually see them realizing this.

OMG did they take out the option for user samples from the docked media bay?
