what if REAPER would have scored first place?

Or Studio One :D ... Yeah, would have been entertaining and surprising either way. (As for me, at that point I wasn't yet discovering how efficiently the current version of Reaper fits my needs, would have voted for Studio One myself.)

The thing i miss most from reaper is plugin sandboxing. I can't for the life of me figure out why this is not a universal feature. Assuming hardware is cool, virtually all daw instability traces back to 3rd party plugs.

Anyhoo...Enjoy!

Um unless I did not understand the statement Reaper does this and was one of the first If I recall, right click on an effect in the effect browser and select "run as" for the options.

Reaper gives you this as an option thankfully, if you mean that Reaper does not do this for every plugin I am happy I have the option, because as far as I know that is unnecessary for the plugins I use.
Yes, you're correct. I should've been more clear...what i meant was that a reaper feature i miss most when using other hosts is sandboxing :) sorry for the confusion!
Feed the children! Preferably to starving wild animals.

Not very cool here. I'm using Blackmore.

Well, I'm using my demo of Studio One V3 because of ease of sequencing over Reaper, but until that time, I was using Reaper mostly as a playground.

Nothing against it.
How to get this mixer strip on side to show up for selected track ? is it exclusive to this theme's layout or something, i cant seem to find out any way to do it... :dog: :ud:

That looks like it is just the mixer with only one channel showing because of how the window is set up. I recreated it but it sucks for usability when moving from one track to another. The scroll bar gives it away. Looks good though in a screenshot.

Yeah, sorry, that's the Themes default image on Reaper's site, not my own screenshot.

Oh I'm using Rado V.O.X. now, it has a nice collection of icons and toolbar presets, I like the default skin just fine except for the icons, I can't tell what they represent and they are not very attractive. Rado helps on both accounts.

In the "normal" view with the Mixer docked on the bottom right click the empty area to the right of the tracks in the mixer and select/check "scroll view when tracks activated". This can also be found by right clicking the mixer under the master fader where the track number usually appears.

Now you can dock the mixer and the view will follow the selected track.

One more thing I forgot, on the top of that same list it gives you the options for where you want to show the master in the mixer. Un-check it essentially hiding the mixer. Now it works as you desired.

Now save that as a screenset so you can go back and forth between views and settings.

After all these years of using it and flitting around with other daws I've come to the conclusion that - yes, it is amazing. It does everything basically (only DDP is a bit iffy but almost none of my clients use that). Not in the most elegant way and not backed by fancy advertising and a bunch of mainstream twat endorsements, but, it's probably going to be my studio's home forever now.
