No matter what you do, just never ever talk about it. Especially not in a forum.

This especially goes for copy protection, marketing blah, GUI design, whatever.

Seriously?
Are YOU serious? There has been so much talk about it here that it drips out of the other end. Especially in threads which actually have nothing to do with the topic, would have understood it in a thread called "Tone2's vicious copy protection scheme" or similar regarding marketing or GUI design. Get real dude.

I have Saurus installed on two machines - one has a web connection, another one doesn't (my main DAW). Don't remember any single issue with Saurus on either of them. What in the world are you talking about?

Their marketing approach is indeed tasteless and stupid, but to me this seems funny rather than annoying.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Following this logic, Saurus should extinct and Gladiator should be killed by other synths for someone's fun.

And also this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electra_complex
Just in case there's a doubt in someone's mind, I was being ironic (fixed that in my quote, and also in my original post) :help: Perhaps I should have added a wink

There have been some issues (I experienced that) but they are related with the coexistence of Tone 2 plug-ins and iLOK protected plug-ins. For some reason I ignore, they seem to conflict in a very bad way

You didn't get my point. Nevermind.

Not everyone understands irony I guess.

Right, don't you ever talk foul about Tone2 stuff. :clown:

Agreed. That "plasticness" seems to be their signature sound in the last several synths, and something about it sets my teeth on edge. If Icarus has that same sound to it I'll be passing it up too, but I have to admit my curiosity is piqued at least.

That'd be fantastic. I miss Kubik; I can't use it because of a lost license file way back when.

I like Tone2's products and sound overall. I have all of their products (but then again I have most EVERYONE's products, heh). A year and a half ago I discovered something that I could not tell if it was Tone2 or UVI or Cubase. I got weird lockups. Sent a memo out to Tone2, UVI, and Steinberg. Tone2 took responsibility after a few days conferring with Steinberg and a fix was quickly released (within a few days) for each of the products.

Since then I have not noticed anything.

Looking forward to hearing this product.

What a thread :o

To Ingo  Good luck my friend. Seems some people make the confusion between the message and the messenger here.

Here's how I would describe the sound of Tone 2 VSTs.

Miss Universe

All the girls are different but they're all wearing the same bathing suits and all have the same perfect bodies. The hair color is different and some are a little shorter or taller but it's like a beauty assembly line. That's the overall sound of the Tone 2 synths.

But, if you really look at each individual girl, you'll notice things that make one more attractive to you than another, which is why you ultimately do have your one or two favorites when the competition ends and why ultimately somebody does win.

So they're all the same, but they're all different to a degree.

That's Tone 2

Well, i'm sorry, but it was difficult to get if you were being ironic. Seemed like a random reply i would get here when bringing up stuff like that. That alone shows how crappy Tone2 trheads here are. Real pretentious do-gooder shit.
