The tracktion team was in the opportunity to choose from hundreds of great already made themes by users and they come up with a again bad color theme like the default tracktion 4 theme. Too busy and not focused.
I would really like to see the "gamecat graphite" scheme back wich was included in tracktion 6. I really liked the flat former interface look of tracktion 4,5 en 6.

In the original T7 Color thread that was deleted; now no one except those of us who read that thread know itRobert Randolph wrote: Where has someone from TSC said this?
But I would go for a change in the NEon colors, until the colour scheme can be changed.

I can understand it though. Folks pile on and make all of these apocalyptic declarations about T7 in threads like this. It's almost like they are trying to out do each other in levels of "outrage and disgust!" It gets old.
FWIW I get how important a GUI can be to working in a software environment. Totally agree. (Overtime I migrated away from StudioOne v2 in part because of its interface.) Fortunately, I'm one of the lucky ones who LOVE the new interface to T7.
But an editor and choices will be good for everyone.
Btw and FWIW, when StudioOne v3 hit there was a similar outcry. Several who hated the new interface found that recalibrating their monitors made a HUGE difference. Apparently overtime calibration had drifted, or they had made some other calibration scheme long ago and forgotten. Anyway, for those so inclined, it might be worth a few minutes....

Perhaps, but considering the past I think it's more likely they're just focusing on new features. Having to consider alternate colour schemes for every thing you do really does slow down development.Rock wrote:Maybe they also deleted that plan.pough wrote:They said it in the thread they deleted.bk wrote:Got a link? They're going to get complaints no matter what they do. May as well do what they want.

My guess is that a small percentage of users hate (and will always hate) dark, high-contrast themes, matched by a similar number that love them. A large group in the middle doesn't really care, with a matching lack of energy to shout their indifference from the mountain tops.
I'm not a huge fan of the dark, but all the apps I use to create stuff (The many Adobe Creative Cloud Apps, Affinity Designer, Studio One 3, MainStage 3) all look very similar to Tracktion 7, so it's not like the Tracktion folks are making some wild stab in the dark (ha!) to senselessly anger their users. Yes, it may be that all these companies are taking part in a mass delusion like Brutalism (which brought us all those hideous community colleges and government buildings built in the 70's), but I'm guessing there's a pretty good chance that the decision to go dark involved just a wee bit of research into what the majority of users prefer.
Hopefully they'll find a simple way to accommodate those who can't bear the change, and I'm guessing they will, because the Tracktion guys are cool. Apple or Adobe on the other hand, would laugh uproariously at their user's pain while tattooing a subscription barcode or logo on their foreheads.

Given a choice. ;0) wink, wink
Choosing a black waveform and a less intense clip color would be my choice.
I find that the black main theme is less stressful to the eyes.
Carbon fiber would be good too.
Dinking around with different fonts, I kinda like the look of Cambria into the theme.

another +1 ... not asking for a colour editor.klangbastler wrote:+1alejandrozalaquett wrote:+1skipscada wrote:I for one don't need a colour editor, but I'd prefer a lighter theme with less contrast.
I'm not asking for a color editor, just a lighter and less contrast scheme.
I got quite used to the default scheme on T6.
yes, that's the main point, i hope this is clear by now to tracktion staff.
give us a choice with less contrast, a lighter theme so to speak, where the light/dark contrast is reversed.
light colors for backgrounds, dark colors for text/lines. we had it in t6 default skin, now it is gone.
But alternative theme: object clip colours without gradients !!! (flat) and more greyish (proTools grey) and less glarish colours
thanks and regards

I must be weird but I really like the new color scheme... seems much easier on my old tired eyes. I would like to find a smoother font that doesn't look so much like courier and would be easier to read!!skipscada wrote:I for one don't need a colour editor, but I'd prefer a lighter theme with less contrast.
