I would like to see:

1. beat slicer, included in sampler (something like Muzys)
2. improved midi export - selected clips/channels/all, in separate channels maybe
3. same for wav (not to convert the channel to wav, losing midi, but just to dump it to wav)
4. linked midi clips (edit-one-change-all)
5. stability issues with certain VSTs...

This would be enough to make me extreeeeeeeemly happy with Tracktion.

Sorry if some of it is there, but it isn't obivious to me, and I am spoiled as any Tracktion user.

Guys, stop with the Cubase already, that granddad is a different ballgame! Whats next, someone will ask for note-sheet editing and printing!?

1. I have six midi and two audio inputs and it gets frustrating dragging the icons on the left out of the way to find the one I want, which is sometimes buried under three or four others. It would be wonderful if they could somehow be programmed not to overlap each other, so that they're all visible at all times, even if this meant making the icons smaller.

2. The ability to permanently rename midi output ports.

3. Correct sysex dump handling is essential, right now T is all but useless for storing patch banks due to the 128-byte buffer limit.

4. An effect send structure would be nice, all this would need to be is a new filter with a level control and a selection of which track to output to - much the way FLstudio does it with the "send" plugin. That way you don't have to have dedicated "send" busses because that inevitably leads to arguments about how many there should be. A filter approach also means that sends could send to sends, if you know what I mean (for example, two audio tracks might send to two different delays, but then part of both of those delays could be sent to a common reverb).

I still find things about T every day that blow my mind, and my productivity level is a thousand percent of what it used to be, so my biggest request is to NOT try and make it too much like Logic/Sonar/Cubase!

take a look in the keymappings... there are options for scroll tracks left, right, up and down. they are just not mapped to any keys. and BTW, CTRL is standard for making copies. CTRL+drag any object in explorer and it'll be copied. 8)
And can't you just hit your right and left arrow keys to go horizontally???

actually what I gathered beyer was requesting is a little different than what the cursor left/right keys do. Cursor left/right moves the current position marker, but the commands in the keymappings shifts the entire timeline left/right as if using the wheel on a mouse.

I have 2 audio inputs and only 2 MIDI inputs, and I STILL find this one a bit cumbersome at times! Either smaller, or can only overlap by a certain amount-- either would be helpful. Plus, make it so that they don't scroll with the rest of the project, but stay stationary on the left there.

That's my number 1 on my list :)

BETTER MIDI CONTROLLER EDITING

Specifically, I would like to be able to draw a line like I can with vst automation, and have Tracktion non-destrucively distribute CC messages along it, with adjustable resolution (to balance between smoothness of curve & data density) .. I think Logic can do something like this..?

If these lines could also be warped into curves that would be even better. Better still would be to make VST & MIDI automation "the same" so that existing automation can be redirected to other destinations, copied & pasted etc..

Maybe Tracktion would even be able to convert existing MIDI controller data into vectors with a "best guess" algo?

:)
