O.k., I will try to reduce the project to one track and try to find a preset which reproduces the problem.
Cant really understand how "your" texture mux preset on a track with mostly one note playing at a time in a mulab free version reduced to 4 tracks and only one other synth in the project (the basic synth) can overload cpu. I have tried to experiment with the new sequencer on that other track with the basic synth rack, maybe that causes the overload, I have only three year old cheap pc with I3 and no problems with the project, strange.....

Yes but its the same issue, I only need to press one key and the arp plays all the notes, but I would like it to only play the notes that I press, still in sequence though, found this article, it has some audio examples
https://www.attackmagazine.com/techniqu ... eggiators/
Or the only other thing I can suggest is to try RandArp, it is free and 64 bit and safe, you will see/hear the difference immediately.

Its a matter of individual taste, but I think this arp is a way more powerful drug than standard arpeggiators, especially combined with the Layers in the Mu synths: intervalsanity!

@bibz
Yep that's exactly it. Pressing one key plays the arp sequence, pitched as in the sequencer. On every hardware arp I've used, designate an arp sequence type, that could be up, down, or both, or as played.
This means as you press a key it triggers the arp but only the key that is pressed is played no other note. Press a second key and the arp alternates between the two. Press a third or fourth key and the arp plays them according to its setting, up, down, or both, or as played.
The extension of this is that you add a pattern to the arp, which is more what this arp is about. Press a key it plays a sequence, Press a second key, it plays the sequence alternating notes, I'm not at my PC so can't verify this, am I right?
But I think what is proposed is that you add the up, down, both, as played options with a speed selector, IE, 8th, 16th, 32nd and triplet variations. This is the more 'traditional' arp that is being referred to, I believe.
There's no need to sacrifice the current features or create a new module for this as it could be added onto the existing module.

@sl23 yes thats exactly it.
The new arp/seq is fantastic it is just missing the very basic type which is sometimes all you want, but like I said, it's no problem dropping another basic arp vst in there, I dont want the release of M7 stalled just because of this

I think that the step sequencer module is really great especially when compared to many noble products, an arpeggiator in modern style with advanced options and with custom presets you can also get the classic arpeggiator (and much much more)the difference lies in selecting the preset instead of an option ,but the idea of having two arpeggiators is good
I played a bit with it and does great great things ,if it is used for drum It becomes a real tr xox style sequencer
I find it very similar to that present in another synth and I think is one of the best out there and maybe it can improve even more with some features
if I understand what you want to achieve this is a step sequencer preset in classic style if you want to try

The reason why I understood how to do it because the step sequencer is very similar to that of one of my synth
Also try this is the same thing but with the sequencer module

Out of interest what is the synth ?
I think he has one of the best arpeggiator / sequencer
and now mux / mulab have the best
edit:Jo Please forgive me I do not want to advertise ,I wrote the name of the synth because I think it is an excellent example if you want to compare
the step sequencer is very similar not equal of course there are differences, but I found that they work in the same way

Speaking of the Step Sequencer, yeah, it sure looks good.
And so does the new font system! Well what can I say, but thank you Jo...
The font is quite a step up for the app alright - in fact, many things just look sharper and crisper - definitely more in the "professional" direction.
Awhile back we talked about these subtle things making an overall impression - fonts, shading, colours...well, they certainly do. My work with MuLab will be somewhat more pleasant now!
Question about the browser font - could you add an option to adjust the size there? It is quite small, and especially in windowed mode, when the window is made large, the fonts look very small. A size parameter would be tremendous here.
All in all, just a really beautiful upgrade Jo...I could write an essay. A big, big Thank You over here.
And that Step Sequencer?
WOW!
And a "Fruity Mode" for the piano roll?
FANTASTIC!
