mutools wrote: Sorry for the delayed response. That 'circle' is the O of Overview. It takes all parts and markeers into account. For the composer it also defaults to showing minimum 2.5 minutes at the current tempo. Is that ok? If not feel free to make a suggestion about how to define how much must be shown upon clicking that overview button.
My song has just a 4 bars sequence, so the song's lenght is 4 bars.
In this case, the default 2.5 minutes our 1 minute length should not be applied, right ?
I think it must show the song's current length with a little more extra length. This one is depending on the song length (maybe a %) ?

Post

Yeah that's what I was thinking but as its only a minor detail I didn't push it further.

Say it would be 25% more and you have a 1 bar song that would result in 1 bar and 1 beat. Not really useful. When you have 4 bars it would overview to 5 bars, not really useful either. That's why i chose to go for a minimum absolute time, i think that maes more sense. But i agree the 2.5 minutes were too long, and even the 1 minute still is too much, i'll further lower it to half a minute.

Personally, I can't see what's wrong with the greater of (one bar or the project length) plus one bar for "show all". If I want more space, I'll zoom out. If I want to see the whole project, I don't want to lose too much of the screen to emptiness. (Same deal vertically - greater of (one or the project track count) tracks plus one, plus the "add track" button. Although it's complicated by how the tracks are displayed...)

Post

That's the thing atm: You can't zoom out more than that end time. So for small songs there must be enough room.

Post

Oh... yes. That's true. Maybe fix it so there's no restriction there? (I've no understanding of why it's like that, of course.)

Post

Of course improving the scrollbars so they can handle that case would be ideal, but that's not for now. I think half a minute will be ok for now as default in that case (short compositions). And you can always zoom it as you want and that's also saved with the project.

Post

That's the behaviour I expected by default, show couple extra bars at most and when you need more then zoom out.

In light of your post, while I was writing, I understand it's not an immediate issue. Hopefully this can be added some time during the life of M7

:dog: :dog: :dog: and D'oh!

I very stupidly forgot I was in M7 rather than M6 and saved a load of presets into my M6 MuLab/MuX shared library... Now when I come to try to load them in MuX 6, of course, it complains.

Is there anything I can do to "go backwards" to M6 or will MuX 7 be here shortly (test version, even! )?

No that's practically not possible.

I'll do my best.

Quick feedback
Fonts are so small as to be unusable on modern resolutions. Is there any way to make them bigger?
Undo doesn't really work.
In terms of ergonomics, not much has changed for me unfortunately.

Post

Perhaps an undo history or log that could be integrated into the browser.

Please be more specific. Which undo action doesn't work?

Hi all! 7 is running just fine here. It even seems to run at roughly 3-6 % lower cpu all around, so there! The only thing I would change is to add a way for the sequencer window to stay on one pattern as it plays instead of switching back and forth. Bugwise, haven't seen anything yet.
Hopefully I'll get my new credit card before the official unveiling of 7. Great stuff Jo!
