But yeah, Live is great, not perfect but really good.
Did Ableton hit the sweet spot with v9.6?

If give Logic an 8/10 and Live Suite a 9.5/10.
It might just creep to the 10 when I explore Max for Live a bit further.

How is it with Live now?: I'm using Live Intro 9.1 I think. If I install the upgrade 9.6, will it upgrade 9.1 to 9.6 or install alongside 9.1?
One of the annoying things in Live 8 was that updates didn't update but installed alongside older versions...

Sweet spot for me will be when you can predetermine audio clip lengths before recording into cells. Like you can with midi. I REALLY want this.

Installing Live 9 Intro to check out the new simpler.
But once after installed it freezes on startup, why, because it wants to scan my VSTs
Why have you reverted to that default setting Live, when I unchoose that in the previous installation?
And why do you want to scan my VSTs upfront, aint the plugs you ship with good enough?
If I want to scan my VSTs into Live, I am quite capable of doing that inside Live
Luckily there is a fix to to get Live started, but shouldn't even be necessary

...and where is the "right-click-twist-the-knob" easy midi learn ?
And another thing: When I drop a sound in a midi channel, why doesn't it become live straight away? I need to press the bottom button to arm it.

Not for me. I used Live for 5 years and moved to Cubase a couple of years ago and feel much quicker in Cubase due to not having to work around Live's limitations.tehlord wrote:

I guess it totally depends on what you are using each for and how you like to work.
I actually prefer Cubase's Groove Agent to Live's drum racks. It's either just as fast or can do things I want quicker. That's just me though. I never massively got on with drum racks in Live all the years I used it for some reason. The Drum Rack (for example) is just genius and makes a mockery of the way you have to use Cubase for drums, even if you use the 'integrated' Groove Agent.
