Look, RePro-1 is already killing the secondhand prices of Pro-One's. Here's a guy 30 minutes from me, just outside of NYC, selling a working original for $800.

It's tempting.

Prices for a working Pro One on Reverb.com and E-Bay currently run between 1,800 and 2,800 for Buy Now options, so $800 for a working Pro One seems like a steal. Knowing RePro-1 is coming out soon is good enough to quell any gas or temptation.david.beholder wrote:$800 is too much for it

0. Price is subjective for $800: you could buy Urzwerg, Megazwerg and Kraftzwerg on a good dayFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Prices for a working Pro One on Reverb.com and E-Bay currently run between 1,800 and 2,800 for Buy Now options, so $800 for a working Pro One seems like a steal. 1. This synth is popular over gearslutz - that's why it's insanely overpriced
2. Buy it now is for (no offence) disabled, kids and pregnant women - adults shouldn't pay attention

RePro-1 sending Audio, CVs, Gate and Trigger information to modular via Expert Sleepers stuff. In this patch RePro-1 oscillators run through Wasp filter controlled by Doepfer ADSR - which is triggered/gated by RePro-1. MFB VCA is controlled by RePro-1 VCA envelope and RePro-1 ModWheel is also added to Wasp filter cutoff.

You've mentioned that you're still thinking about how to implement the variations between different models...
What about re-using the 'model number' system from Protoverb? Making each letter a variable of external(temp, humidity) and internal(calibration, tolerances) factors, and a separate 'age' knob which you've described before? 2 GUI items only, but the reproducable variation is ensured.
It could apply for the plugin instance, not the preset, because the preset author can also note down which type of model he reccommends in the preset description. eg.: "use C3-F8A6, age: 32% for best results".
As for the 5 filter models of the upcoming Repro-1 test, I hope you'd closely matched each one's CPU usage to the hungriest algo, otherwise the cheapest model will immediately get the least of votes, due to subjective pseudo-reasons. (eg. "the cheapest one shouldn't be the best one, is it?")
If I was just being a smartass and you've thought of these, never mind then. I'll be eager to check the survey results!

They're processed in groups. Processing all 5 together brings my Mac pro to its knees, so I just also process one or two other ones with each individual model. No way to tell which is which by CPUdavidka wrote:As for the 5 filter models of the upcoming Repro-1 test, I hope you'd closely matched each one's CPU usage to the hungriest algo, otherwise the cheapest model will immediately get the least of votes, due to subjective pseudo-reasons.
