sl23 wrote:Wow! Thanks Jo, I didn't know you could put buttons at the left. Can't wait to check that out, see how you did it. But... That's not actually what I was getting at. It's the actual step Led 's that I was referring to. The step numbers where the loop is indicated. Did you understand what I'm requesting here? It seems you thought I was still trying to ask for the previous request.
I think i understood well, cfr what i quoted of your post, did not quote your newest FR. About that newest FR, i've seen the post and taken a note on the wishlist but won't be M7.0.
You know that the virtual keyboard at top right is scrollable, well, the steps in a pattern should be scrollable too. But not the same way as keyboard as this is cumbersome and not midi controllable.
Oh yes i was indeed thinking about a scrollbar solution. Why is that cumbersome?

Absolutely not -- it's on the collapsed state I want it!
Ok, several users all voted against it, i'll keep it as is ie. collapsed rack with on/off switch. That's also my personal preference as having a mixed situation could look confusing.
Indeed, I'd actually prefer the collapsed state narrower than it is - there's a lot of blank width there
A collapsed rack even smaller than now? :o
How do you see that? Pls post a mockup.

How about getting rid of all those lanes and simply have 3:
1. Knobs for Velocity
2. Knobs for Note Value
3. Pads for On/Off
With the new front panel options you can make such MUX front panel.
Nice! I figured it out, only just had a chance to play with it, Step Seq I mean!
Attached is a Basic Step Sequencer MUX preset that takes advantage of the front panel integration. It can be plugged in at any point. It looks like this:

Woah, that's pretty sleek looking! :tu:
+1
Thanks Jo! :tu:

Yes I see you understood my first request well, I was referring to the second. I wasn't sure if you understood me.

Re ~ cumbersome...
Because it means relying on mouse while performing instead of just hardware controller / keyboard. If you add buttons make them midi assignable so they can be linked to hardware. Don't think it matters to have separate buttons, just back and forward probably enough.

Thus allowing users to use their hardware to adjust steps in longer patterns live.

But the step sequencer isn't midi programmable, so if you would only FR to have step selector buttons (1-16 / 17-32) to be midi triggerable that would be a bit odd no? So i guess your FR is much more extended requesting the whole step seq to be midi programmable. That's not planned yet.

Big black box at the the side could you fix it, Thanks jo,
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yes I see what you mean. I suppose making it fully programmable would be better.

That's not a bug. The window has to be that wide to fully show all controls at the top. The balc space is unavoidable i'm afraid. If someone has a suggestion to beautify that, pls post it. Then i'll evaluate if it's not much work.

Its never really bothered me but how about if the vst window could be centralised by default and a gradient colour on the background by default would smarten it up a little, what do you think, more trouble than its worth ?
Beauty is only skin deep,
Ugliness, however, goes right the way through

I have that with a number of plugins. Could the control bar just wordwrap so the control bar became deeper?

Thank you for the new package. I have seen that new presets have appeared, but some have disappeared, no more silencio for instance...

Post

The silencio patches are still in there, but with a simplified front panel, and merged into the other preset folders.

Also some of the sample libs that were separately downloadable via the website are now integrated into the factory lib: Rock Pack, Choir and Bamboo. There now also is a string ensemble sample set, vibraphone and more drum samples. Also the piano sample set has been improved.

Yes I have seen this, it's great !

Here's what I can do in Reaper (it's a custom skin on tracks 2 onward):

Here's collapsed in MuLab now:

Here's a skinnier version that's close to the current collapsed state:

Here's something more extreme:
