I see what you mean. Doing it with an MFO wavetable wouldn't work as these waveforms are too short to contain noise. It needs a sample player to play a noise sample. Just tried that, and applied audiorate pitch modulation to a brown noise sample, doesn't do much. Applied on a pitched sample it works though.
Tomorrow I share some examples.
Ok, thx.

Hi Jo,

Apologies if this has been asked already within this thread -- but will a future version of MuLab (maybe not this one) support multiple time signatures (i.e. beats per bar) within the same project? At the moment, it isn't possible to switch between 3/4 and 4/4 within the same project using Automation ... maybe not an issue for many people, but Metallica had some awesome time signature changes in their time!

In addition -- i notice that the metronome always counts you 4 beats in (for recording), even if you've chosen 3 (or some other number of) beats per bar.

Thanks

I can't answer that question, sorry, as it is still unknown what will be in future versions.

Project menu -> Edit Recording Setup or right-click the main record button -> Count Down.

Yes exactly,Thanks Jo
My request has nothing special, I'm talking about two samples, if you want to include in the library a noise sample and a noise waveform (random waveform) for use in the oscillator.
I made a very quick example (nothing special) unfortunately I have no time now to do something better.

There is a new M7.0.16 in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/

What's changed:
  • Step sequencer: The definition of the lanes now is per pattern instead of common for all patterns of that step sequencer. This makes the step sequencer more flexible!
  • Step sequencer: Patterns are individually savable as preset files.
  • Step sequencer: Finetuned Pattern selector section, and added explicit pattern preset file buttons.
  • Step sequencer: Several new context functions to manage lane setups, all available via the pattern selector's options button. Including functions to copy the lane setup of one pattern to other patterns.
  • Step sequencer: Pattern display didn't properly show the pattern name. Fixed.
  • Step sequencer: Removed the right-most Options button and merged these options into the standard Step Sequencer's options menu -> "Edit Properties".
  • "Setup Auxiliary Ins/Outs" context function only shown when relevant i.e. when there are aux ins/outs.
  • Automation tracks for aftertouch and pitch bend were not working ok. Fixed.
  • Envelope editor: When editing eg a pitch bend curve, the value pane at the left was not ok. Fixed.
  • New "Pitch Bend Generator" module. It's similar as the MIDI Controller Generator, but this one generates pitch bend events.
How to update: (read extra note below!)

Make sure you already have installed the complete M7.0.12 package. Then:
OSX: Replace the existing M7 MuLab.app file by the new version in the small zip file.
Windows: Replace the existing M7 MuLab.exe and MuLab.ID files by the new versions in the small zip file.

Also This: Also copy the 4 files in the NewIcons20160406.zip into the App\Graphics\Common\Common\Icons sub-folder!

Post

Hi Jo where is the icon zip ?
Beauty is only skin deep,
Ugliness, however, goes right the way through

Post

In the galaxa webfolder: http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/
Please recheck, i unintendedly posted the M7.0.16 message a little before the files were effectively there, sorry. It's all there now.

Aha got it, no prob and thanks

It definitely is a cute little poject, sounds interesting
Does it contain a noise sample? I don't see it?
About a "noise waveform"? As you can hear a waveform never is noise cause a waveform is too short to contain real noise. "A noise waveform" is a contradictio in terminis, imho. This is about a very spiky waveform. But i see your point, also demo'd in your project, that very spiky waveforms can be very interesting. Luckily waveforms are always embedded in the patch and so you can make and share as many patches and projects as you want containing such noisy waveforms, and they can even be different each time, which may add extra variation to the sounds. So the remaining point is what about including a noise sample. But then i don't yet understand whay that would be better than using the noise generator module. All this just draftly thinking loud (and a bit tired atm). Pls let me know if i'm missing something. Thx.

Thanks Jo :)
is really a small project done in two minutes.
Realized that maybe I use the wrong term, spiky waveform it's the right term
to get this kind of shape I usually load a noise sample in oscillator :hihi:
So I called this "noise sample"but in fact in my project there is no sample or rather there is a sample used in the oscillator to get that type of spiky waveform..
then there is no need to include in the library if the sample is directly embed in the oscillator problem solved :tu:
forgive me, sometimes I lose something.
I can get this type of waveform also with the editing functions in mfo I was trying right now..
About the mfo I have a question, why when using PW transform(Also another types if not mistaken) not start from zero initial values ? I do not know how it is said (like in the oscillator invert layer) just a curiosity.
please forget samples and my crazy requests.
thanks for the new update :tu:

Cause at 0 the first part of the waveform would be completely squeezed to null, and i assumed that would be nonsense.
please forget samples and my crazy requests.
No prob, pls keep on exploring, experimenting and being creative, and posting feedback & sharing great sounding results :tu:

This is a very cool project!
Thanks for sharing and thanks for the new ideas - at least for me.

Thanks for the info Jo and of course I have so many interesting things to share soon! :) :tu:

Thanks a lot AndreasD! :)
I'm glad you like it my crazy experiments :tu:

I found two strange errors..
When you want to reset a controller (alt + left click) on the mux front panel, sometimes appears an hourglass or a rubber.
The other error concerns the name of the waveform, when save a patch and after reload the oscillator shows only the name "waveform" instead of the correct name saw,sine..
I thought it was my mistake but noticed that happening very often.
