Still haven't found a way to restore the original GUI display, with the mixer at the bottom and the track window above, complete with scrollbar. I can manually reduce the size of the track window, but then mixer and the rest of the GUI are no longer one GUI, but act like two separate ones, which I think was not the case with the original GUI. Any ideas?fluffy_little_something wrote:But the mixer still floats in the middle of the screen after undocking. And when I move it down where it belongs, the other window with the scrollbar options is hidden behind it.

There are 2 ways:
* Right-click the black space in the rack desk -> Toggle Docked/Windowed
* MULAB menu -> Preferences -> Docked Mixing Desk -> switch it on

Don't know if its a bug or I'm missing something, but if I load the step sequencer as in the video, then click play, then click the on/off button in the rack next to the step sequencer I get a constant tone. I thought it would have stopped sound as the step sequencer is turned off, so not generating messages.

Ok put the basic synth in the second slot in the rack.
Step sequencer in the first rack slot.
Draw a pattern in the composer and step sequencer.
When the track is running turn the step sequencer off with the rack button, let the pattern in composer continue to run and you hear it playing the pattern drawn in composer.
Then turn the step sequencer back on you will hear both patterns playing and if you turn the track "play" off, it will still play through the rack. Seems to be a little like feedback.

Might make sense to be able to use the mixing desk button for cycling thru docked display -> floating display -> hide
Yes, I admit it, I don't like menus

Imagine you prefer a docked rack desk and you want hide it for a moment to give all space to a part editor, then suddenly the rack desk becomes floating... I can imagine that would be unexpected behavor for users.

OK, I put a step sequencer in slot one, classic piano in slot two, single note in composer (C3) four beats long, four notes in the step sequencer (C E G E), 16th notes, one per beat. With the track running, I heard four notes. With the step sequencer bypassed, the composer note, as expected, bypassed the step sequencer and played the piano.heks wrote:Ok put the basic synth in the second slot in the rack.

Inserting an Event Monitor between the step sequencer and the piano shows what's happening clearly.

But of course it is nothing important. I am sure you have more important stuff to do

@ pljones, did you get a constant sound from the synth that could not be turned off from the master play/stop only by clicking on the on/off button on the synths slot in the rack?
Oh forgot to mention once you have turned the step sequencer back on, turn it off and you only hear the "feedback".

No, it worked entirely as expected - when on, I heard the pattern in the step sequencer play the synth; when off, I heard the pattern in the part's sequence play the synth.heks wrote:@ pljones, did you get a constant sound from the synth that could not be turned off from the master play/stop only by clicking on the on/off button on the synths slot in the rack?

As I say, use the Event Monitor and see if you see anything unusual. And also try it with the piano and really simple sequences. If you don't get it then, you'll have to step forward in complexity to identify what's actually causing the effect you experience, so you can explain it.
