Just downloaded the new MuLab 7 and upgraded my license..all is looking really cool..just been having fun trying out the step sequencer. Thanks for all the hard work and on-going support from all concerned..and it's really great to see MuLab evolving like this..kudos Jo!

Just one quick question..and please forgive me if this has been addressed already..but is this release compatible with projects produced with versions 5 and 6? I didn't sync the version 6 folder with the new version 7 folder yet..just wanted to make sure beforehand that it's OK to do so.

Thanks in advance for the help.

There's a randomizer? Hmm...
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

Keep backups of the original projects. MuLab will forward convert to the new format but you can't go back. (There's a page explaining this somewhere but I don't have the link.)

Thanks..I remember seeing something about it myself, but I just wanted to make sure before I start working with existing projects. Basically I want to know if you can swap over the vr 7 files with those in the vr 6 folder, like how you would normally do when updating the program..or is this a no-no due to this being a whole new version?

It would be great if I could, as it would mean I wouldn't have to re-enter all the plugins on my system.

Yes MuLab 7 can open all projects made with MuLab 4.2 and up. Older projects (eg project made with MuLab 1-3) must first be resaved with MuLab 4.2 or up.

To avoid confusion: MuLab does not automatically convert project files. But if you open a MuLab 5 project in MuLab 7 and then save it, then indeed you can't open that project (now an M7 file) in MuLab 5 anymore of course.

Yes you can copy over your User folder from M6 to M7. Same principle as before.

Thanks for your felicitations on the M7 release
It has been a long and intense develoment cycle but a very fruitful one :)
Thanks for all your feedback and input!!

Sorry for the miscommunication.. I ment that sometime ago I read that if you make a nice demo that you could possibly win a licence for the full version of your Daw or your Synth? Is it still like that? How does it work or am I just wrong?

And thank you for the long hours and hard work you put in to it :)

Maybe I'm wrong about this?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I hope the update frequency will diminish a bit, there seems to be a new version every other day, I can hardly keep up :hihi:

Interesting that the exe is not even 3 MB, why has the whole thing grown by 10 MB or so? I think M6 was less than 20 MB, now M7 is about 30 MB. Are there new samples? :)

Why did you use rectangular pads for the drum thingy? Round or Simmons-type ones would look much better in my view. And those default colors, well...
