If you upload a wav file, of course it will sound worse by comparison - it's going to 128kbps MP3. You should just export to MP3 and listen locally before even bothering with SC (also, you may as well export a 256kbps MP3 for upload, the file is lots smaller, quality is about as good as you'll get after SC processes it to 128kbps MP3). SoundCloud seems to also be optimized for louder music (funny thing, that). So make sure the mix levels are reasonably loud. Export to MP3 locally and change the mix until it doesn't sound terrible to you at 128kbps (e.g. the high end will go away completely < 16khz or 13khz or less, I forget exactly). You can put a HPF on your master around there, then fix the mix to sound as good as possible in the given range and just export that, optimized for streaming! Done.

Really? Dang. Sucks that I'm running into this problem now :c.

Alright, back to the mastering board. I'm not sure which I should be more upset about: Having to re-master my track for SC, or wasting 100mb+ of space exporting 2 wav files XD

TAL products, including NoizeMaker, have MIDI learn functions. Logic X comes with "MIDI FX" plugins which can afford the use of an extra envelope or LFO. While I frequenky use other MDID FX plugins for velocity variability and the arpeggiator, would the use of stock plugins granting the extra envelope or LFO, be legal in the competition.

I don't even know if it will be needed, but I'm curious, and make use of an extra envelope most frequently.

I do this manually via automation. :)

You know, at this point I don't care what place I end up in, I'm quite proud of my creation (despite the noobish composition). At least it has a pretty nice drop.

Also, look at my poor image creation abilities!

Ok, time to start listing things...uuugh.

DAW: FL 12

VSTs (oh boy):
22 Noisemakers
10 Fruity Parametric EQ 2s
8 Fruity Reeverb 2s
4 StereoToolsV3s
3 Fruity Fast Dists
2 Fruity Delay Banks
2 Fruity Limiters
1 Fruity Delay 2s

I'm still not sure about the genre of this track, but it's awesome. To me. And hopefully to you too.

I'll put a link to the flp if I ever stop being lazy.

Also, make sure to download the impressively oversized WAV file if you really want to hear it: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2x1t3 ... al_WAV.wav or at the soundcloud page (might say buy or free download or whatever.)

That's pretty crazy track man :) I log in to ask 2 things :
1. Do u know how to make NoiseMaker more CPU frienly aside from less voices and reverb cuz seems little bit cpu or ram heavy.
2.According the rules 'If you need more performance / CPU a workaround is to freeze all the tracks' - so final mix could be made with freezed audio tracks which are the same as played by the synth - this is imporatant cuz some of us work on weak laptops and its painful when baby cpu cry :):):)

Ahhh. You see, not too long ago, I was in the same situation you were in. My poop cpu on my laptop wasn't very good for intensive music creation (I couldn't make this track on that only laptop). What did I do to fix the problem? What all spoiled kids do; throw money at it! :hyper:

Moral of the story: I have no idea, because I don't need any silly workarounds. :D

BJ, where you at? THIS MAN NEEDS ANSWERS!

1. Not sure, noisemaker should be a fairly good cpu synth
2. Freezing is fine, as long as it's not fiddled with afterword

Some vsti are very cpu friendly for weak machines-like the last one Podolski was real pleasure to work with - just wrote 18 lines for 2 days ,put some reverb and export it -piece of cake ...but Noisy1 bite hard or there is some other reason to be cpu heavy which don't know now ...so pure freezing is ok.First impressions from Noisemaker are unexpected good sound and really nice and easy vsti to play sound designer with hahahhaa :)

Only trick I know; HP filter on noise.
Also modulate cutoff with velocity (slightly)

I've uploaded a track called Noize.
https://soundcloud.com/uwe-freising/yoni-suki-noize
It's made with 13 instances of Noisemaker, no DAW or other effects, except DAW compressor and EQ on the master track.
DAW: Renoise 3.1

Hope you like it.

Very funky, I like it a lot! I would add some vibrato on the chords occasionally to accentuate the funkiness even more ;) Like in those old boogie discofunk tracks ..
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

yeah, I did that when I was making my track, but it sounds too noisy to be a hi-hat
