KVR turning into a shop now?! (details please!)

Full-on is common slang in Australia and means cranked up all the way. Similarly, an American might suggest "X-Shop" (and a Brit "Shoppy McShopface.") I thought Full-On Shop was pretty funny, with way more personality than Classifieds, but that's just me.....Compyfox wrote:xoxos wrote:
but now i think you should call it the full on shop.
I think you're trying to wind me up here (dictionary link) - probably due to language barriers

Then a whole bunch of users are ultimately locked out, if they don't have credit cards. Myself included (I do see the one or another nice deal from time to time in the #KVRDeals)paulbreeze wrote:Hungary. 27% VAT. Only CC as payment. I didn't get any further than entering the address to check out what's happening under the hood to be honest.
So VAT applies, should be mentioned in a FAQ or something.
Thanks for the confirmation.
Which is how I know this term as well. Actually more along the lines of "100%" or "full blown" (fully elaborated). So i don't (or rather didn't) get the commentary.Michael L wrote:Full-on is common slang in Australia and means cranked up all the way.

Hm... interesting addition.
I am actually surprised that the KVR CEO's never thought about this... official merchandise.

So, the official news post finally dropped...
http://www.kvraudio.com/news/34050
And it's... actually quite disappointing. It doesn't answering anything really. So a lot of the raised questions and concerns in this thread still remain I'm afraid. The Terms & Services also didn't change much (if not at all since the last comment on it). Neither was the old market place renamed so far.
But one of the bigger issues is still, that a lot(!) of users are locked out of the deals, and the freebie. Why? Only VISA and Mastercard is possible as payment. No PayPal or alternative shopping solution. I don't have a credit card, neither will I get one again. So I'm left out in the cold as KVRAF.
On top of that, there is no mention anywhere in the shop, that VAT may apply on top depending on the location of the user account. VAT only showed up after I inserted my contact data. This is really annoying with a lot of shops that don't mention it beforehand.
I think this new "Marketplace" needs subsequent improvements still...

Is this really THAT big of a deal? Is it keeping you up at night?Compyfox wrote:Okay, we all know that KVR once started as a small community, which got then taken over by MUSE RESEARCH, which in turn then kind of vanished (the hardware I mean - is it even relevant still?!)
So I just hit the KVR page, only to be greeted with this: Now KVR is turning into a full on shop as well? This leads to another market place, outside of the already available "market place" (which is basically just a "small ads/classifieds" section.
What is this? The next Facebook?
And as usual - no bits of news to be read about this "new feature", what it will offer us, why we should use it and not shop at the distributors directly.
What is going on, please?!

You didn't bother to read the rest of the thread then it seems...

Then contribute rather than bark.
How can this whole thing be improved?
Should PayPal be an option?
Does VAT mentioning need to be mandatory (you're from the US, you might think different)?
What about the Terms and Services are they fine as they are currently? (there is room for improvement, considering comments so far)
What about data storing and security?
And also kind of interesting - in what way does KVR benefit? What are the rates for companies or is this bit of info only available behind closed doors?
Come on!
If you introduce something "new" to KVR, something that can fundamentally change the community... why hold back on information? If this is a good thing for KVR, I'd burst with excitement and answer every question, take note, improve on things. But so far, the new "Marketplace" has been the only feature that has been somewhat talked about with a news post.
Is this already the end of it?
Please say no.

They're not paying me to answer those questions and solve their problems.. and I don't consult for free.
Besides, I'm pretty sure its all under control without any of us. So I really don't care to answer them.
I will say I look to this site more for news on software (new products and updates to already released) as well as sales.. and less on technical know-how. Looking at how booming the marketplace forum is, it seems many others look at the site in the same manner.. so it seems natural for the site devs to build and promote these features.
IMO the convo side soured several years ago.. and never came back. A few vocal, negative/argumentative personalities latched on and sucked the life out of kvr.. so it just isn't fun to sit and chat for me as much anymore. Although I do try to check the site daily for news and sales..
