I'm sorry, but this information is IMHO not correct! :?

Import/Export of mp3 is not possible in Tracktion. And this is *not* for technical, but for licensing reasons. Jules preferred the "open" variant of ogg-vorbis.

As far as I know, export of audio files is currently even limited to wav/aiff in Tracktion. Flac and/or ogg are only used on .trkarch export.

Of course, that's not a serious limitation: just use the freeware encoder of your choice to encode T's wav files on your own. :)

Concerning mp3s, that's the import that interests me the most... i have a lot of sound fx cds encoded in mp3 on my hard disk, and it's impossible to put them all in wav format... and i like doing experimentation quickly, so... But i can live without, that's sure

Else about this problem of licenses for the encoder/decoder, maybe that exists somewhere, a soft that is totally free ? And i'm thinking about my CD ripper, the code to use Lame and Blade enc/dec is included in the soft, but the enc/dec itself not... The programmer ask the users to get the DLL by themselves on the net to use the mp3 features... This last thing is maybe a solution ? Maybe that allows not to pay the license in the price of Tracktion ?

You could "Tackywrapper" by ModuLR give a try.

Warning: Heavily ALPHA!!! Doesn't work on every machine, yet. But looks promising! :)

It's a fileselector which integrates seamlessly into the Tracktion UI. And IIRC it supports mp3 (import - drag&drop) as well.

I confirm, that doesn't work on my computer lol. But that seems interesting as a solution for mp3 import in Tracktion

All I want is the ability to change the $#($(#* GM preset names to something so I can set program changes for my SY77 w/o having to ignore the GM names....

If there was a second option to vote, I would have selected audio. I voted midi. Its just that some things REALY need be doing with the midi, that does not mean better audio editing isnt just as, or more important!!

Heres my blablabla: Same editing funktions on midi and audio. Better rendering and freeze. When rendering to project, it should be possible to render just a selected clip, as an option to the whole track. Folder tracks!!! Im also in on a drum editor. Regarding midi, an option to draw modulation lines that follows or dont follow the grid. With the option of a curved vector line, like cubase SX. And better midi control of vstis. This is what is important for me, the rest is a great bonus future :D

I wasn't sure this poll would be that useful but looking at the results it's a very clear signal for jules.

Yep. Quite a strong signal.
But only if "Enhanced Midi ..." has the same meaning for everyone :D
For me it sounds like "External Controller & Better editing".

Hi Njxt...I suppose it would have been impossible for Enhanced midi to have the same meaning for everyone but my interpretation of that is improvements to *any* or *all* aspects of midi currenly in T1 that should be developed further in T2. New midi features for T2 fall into that category as well.

A more detailed option list would have been great but also would have been as long as next week.

Hi.
You're right.

Yeah... Seeing as it was the overwhelming vote getter, I'd like to see more of how that would break down in terms of what specifically people want in better MIDI functionality.

Sounds good... any specific area's you have in mind for a 6 or 7 option poll?

It would have to cover pretty much all of this thread in 7 or so options.
