I don't like it. I mean, if it's free you can't complain, but up against my usual db audioware multiband, it sounds harsh and unnatural, and it clips at the slightest provocation.
The fact that the presets tend to boost rather than cut EQ also suggests that these people don't know what they're doing.

You're certainly welcome to not like it (especially since you have a plugin you're happy with), but I was poking around with it some more today and it occurred to me that it's not enough to just use presets.
It's a very flexible and powerful program, and if people are finding that it clips too much, they'll need to make some adjustments. There's a soft clip function, for example, that not only will introduce noise, but is INTENDED to introduce noise.
Now, I'm not saying it's the saviour of mastering plugins... it's a bit old and I suspect it's not currently under development (though I could be wrong). There are likely much better plugs, but I think that people are quick to dismiss it, rather than take the time to learn all the control options, which are numerous.

"clips" = the sound you get when digital audio goes above 0db. I guess it refers to the plugins limiting behaviour not controlling the output very well or the presets not being very well constructed.

It could also be artificially-induced clipping via the soft-clip setting, which introduces an overdrive-type distortion. Just gotta turn that sucker off if you don't find it musical.
