I've only looked at this on an ipad screen, but it seems to be preferable to your previous, and the one currently shipping with the plug. It still retains the warmth of plug without it being overdoneFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Here's the warmer version. The back panel is less brown, and darker than the current at the expense of some darker lighting in some spots. This is meant to look somewhere in between the current version and the less saturated version below.
[Repro-1] Released!

I like the "warmer gray.jpg" version (def. the right balance for my taste

I'll do you one better, here's a link to the theme:EvilDragon wrote:Can you post a screenshot of the folder layout for your skin (along with files), within Support/Themes folder?

Can you (or anyone) take a look at it and let me know what I'm doing wrong and why it's not working when saved as default? I feel like the issue is probably on my side, but haven't been able to track it down, and for all I know it could even be a bug. I'd appreciate the troubleshooting!

That is weird, it doesn't work over here either...
My own variant (which is just the script txt file with some parameter label changes) works just fine, but this doesn't? Might be a bug, but seems unlikely... Perhaps Urs can comment

At least it's not just me. All I did was essentially edit some of the png's in Gimp. The script itself on this particular skin is the exact same as the default script (other than renaming it from repro-1_original.txt to repro-1.txt).EvilDragon wrote:That is weird, it doesn't work over here either...

At this point, I'm leaning towards bug. The theme and all images load correctly from the UI (so it's not like there's a corrupt file), and the script is the same as default. Hopefully, someone on the U-he team can try it out and confirm.
EDIT: the Save, Sleep, Undo, and Redo buttons did require some .png editing to create a transparent background layer because these buttons were not responding to gamma changes otherwise. The original buttons had a solid background, which I had to remove to make gamma work. Could it be that?

Audio In and FX version are different concepts of the same thing. We have put a lot of effort into this, but had to set it aside because we wanted to release Repro-1 now. Then maybe pick up where we were and see if we can transform it into an update some time (same goes for audio in for our other synths).musikmachine wrote:What about an audio input?

I don't exactly know, but I think it's all still as it was.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Will the 12/6 official release version have any changes to the UI/skin or is it safe to try and make a skin based on the default this weekend? I may try to figure out how to make my gray alternate, a proper skin this weekend.

Can't say much about it right now, this part of the codebase is very far away right now...EvilDragon wrote:That is weird, it doesn't work over here either...

I guess I'll just consider the questionable default GUI behavior reported for now.Urs wrote:Can't say much about it right now, this part of the codebase is very far away right now...EvilDragon wrote:That is weird, it doesn't work over here either...

Just slightly off topic but does anyone know the synth that was used for the basslines in the album Geography (1982) from Front 242.
Like the bassline in the song Kampfbereit:

I love the analogue feel and the way the sound changes constantly.
Candidates that keep popping up are Roland System 100 and Yamaha Csm40 (Korg Ms 20?).
The pro one was also used in Electronic Body Music. Any way this could be achieved with the repro-1?

I notice this a lot around here. Everyone quotes the whole damn post all the time, instead of cutting out all the fluff.Suloo wrote:hehe, just wanted to honor him with a quote, but didn't want to quote the images.

I managed to make it work. Looks like Repro-1 doesn't load user theme data on startup, even tho it remembers the name of the custom theme and writes it to com.u-he.Repro-1.Preferences.txt. On restart Repro-1 reads the theme name but doesn't go loading actual theme files. Or so it seems anyway.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Can you (or anyone) take a look at it and let me know what I'm doing wrong and why it's not working when saved as default? This can be fixed by editing the Repro-1default.txt file in U-HE\Repro-1.data\Data\Scripts\ folder, which is dangerous, because it's a system wide setting. But if you go for it, you'll need to replace the content of the Repro-1default.txt to this:
Code: Select all
THEME name='Warmer Gray'To restore default behavior change the text inside the Repro-1default.txt back to this:
Code: Select all
INCLUDE filename='Repro-1_orig.txt'
