I had biotek working and went for the update because it was still for OSX 10.7.5 now it won't load. Not happy about this :? Submitted my help request and still no reply. Buyer Beware

That seems to be a big one. Image not found, CoreGraphics could not be loaded. Not a little thing.

Luckily on Linux the update is not yet ready I hope that new sounds are just a coincidence with an update on Biotek itself. I mean, that there's no need to update the whole Biotek to have new sounds. I also hope there'll be a changelog of some sort so we know what has been fixed/updated/added.

Support was able to supply me with an old version i can use. ( isn't that a great update for the OS included ). Any way I think that the Audio Unit PASSES but the interface included is insufficient. I love this synth so far and it angers me that I can't have the update THEY say I am entitled to. Just be honest before we loose confidence in all the software. Buyer Beware

I know it's a pain, but clearly not everybody is getting that problem. Sometimes it's going to take support a few days to sort it. If they can't replicate the problem, it makes it even more difficult to fix.

There are many of us on here who are long-time Tracktion users with a lot (and I mean a LOT) of goodwill towards TSC because they rescued Tracktion from Mackie where it had more or less become abandonware. Like a number of others, I'm more than happy to help posters who encounter problems if I can. Do remember that patience is a virtue.

I received my answer from support and they say biotek now has a minimum system requirement of OSX 10.8. Then they ask if I can update my OS. I have this old Mackie Firewire conected mixing board that I use and works GREAT ( especially within Tracktion ). The catch is the mixing board only works with 10.7.5. I am very happy that Tracktion support was able to help me with the biotek plugin I had because, now I have my tracks back.

Well I've been waiting two years for a Steven Slate Trigger 2 fix. Was told they are working on it by support way back then. I guess I am really patient !!!

I emailed support and they got back with me the next day ... I had 1.5.5 but no new presets there weren't 40 new presets . Anyhow in the 1.5.5 Download and Content download area when you click on Archives it's all there for all 3 OS now Mac PC Linux .

Thanks for mentionning it - just got the Linux update with the new sounds. What's nice in the update is being able to resize the Biotek window.

Whoops double post .

Some of the new presets crap on my audio interface and CPU , pops and clicks or xruns in Linux terms ... Lolz ... Like any newer synth really . I have an i7 2.66 1366 socket . Echo Audiofire4 FireWire at 24bit/128 buffer 48 instead of 44.1 . I'm not much a synth guy and it's not every preset just one here and there , I think U-he Diva ate my CPU too ... It's amazing how instense softsynths can be on a CPU . I might raise the buffer to 256 or 512 latency like the good ole single core days of Window XP and see what it does . Lolz . When I downloaded 1.5.5 I downloaded the content as well ...

I get some clicks also. That's the only synth I get some with, though. Even Diva of Bazille with their multicore option switched on does not produce clicks, apart perhaps one or two patches.

What I did the first time I tried Biotek and got clicks was to increase the audio buffers. It seems to have solved the problem but then, regular audio would not play well, so I dropped it back to where it was. I don't mind increasing them just to do audio work, then go back to normal for regular use. Haven't tried it with the latest Biotek though basically because I am still exploring Biotek and not using it in sketches so much yet.

What I mean is that I would go from:

/usr/bin/jackd --sync -T -P80 -ndefault -dalsa -dhw:M1010LT -r44100 -p256 -n4

To:

/usr/bin/jackd --sync -T -P80 -ndefault -dalsa -dhw:M1010LT -r44100 -p512 -n8

Which is quite a lot. Next time I'll try with -p512 -n4. That's in ~/.jackdrc

The audio interface ia a M-Audio 1010LT.
