Why not Ableton Link? :(

My favs:

- Notification bar of loading plug-ins and missed files
- 32bit internal bounce
- Phaser
- Multi-note (!)
- Contextual remembering selected filters in popup browser. I use it for drum pads and samples tab in popup browser.
- Phyton support. Understand the potential but don't know how to use yet :)

Is there a freeze function now?

Yes they need studio one style convert to audio (which they have as bounce) ad convert back to midi.

Also, bounce drum pad and revert!

My prediction is that they will release the beta to users after an official version 2.0 announcement this coming NAMM, which is only 6 days away.

Anyone know if expert sleepers es3,es5,esx4cv work in this version?

The stability is also very impressive. I don't want to make any crazy claims for anyone else, but at least for ME, its been extremely stable. A couple bugs here and there, but for a closed alpha its impressive.
Ive been using it to write my second EP and Im almost done with it, and getting to work on the third ;) No project stopping hiccups or anything.

Maybe because of the name Ableton :) It´s Bitwig Link.

I think they will integrate it when this hole new MIDI/CV core is working and stable. After the release of 2.0
RME Babyface Pro / Bitwig / Adam A7X / Maschine+

Could you test something for me?

I have noticed that when I went over a constant 60-70% cpu usage on a project the GUI lagged pretty bad. It progressively did this thing the more the cpu usage rised, but 60-70% and above was unusable for me. Everything I tried to move around would leave ghost tails and was sloppy because it was like I was in a game with very low FPS. Especially moving notes around the piano roll was annoying. I stopped trying to work on big projects so I am wondering how you did it? Unless your tracks dont use that much dsp.

I have tried this in 3 different machines that I own in home and the studio, a 6700k cpu, a xeon 2687 and a 6900k which are pretty much insanely fast cpus and I obviously never had such a problem with other daws.

Thanks for any share on this
Yes, thats what the improvements are all about as I was told. I can't test this since I lack the external gear, but once the beta is here (I guess some time after NAMM) you should be able to try it yourself and give feedback on it.

Cheers,

Is that a typo and there's Python support? For doing what?

Sounds very promising, it's probably the most elegant scripting language out there.

You're right. It is typo. Python.

Sounds very intriguing. What is it used for, as an alternative to Javascript for scripting controllers, programming the modular system, something entirely else?

And would you happen to know if it's possible to import Python modules? If that's the case then it's insanely extensible, no matter what it's used for.

As I said, I have no idea how to use it. I just saw it in list of changes for alpha 6. Most likely it is for the controller api. But I'll be extremely happy if we can use this for a workflow like in Cockos Reaper

Wow! Python support opens up a new world..
