I could make a YT series out of that.
Oh wait, there are already xyz "mix like a pro AE" ones out there...

No precise numbers and too much space neede in the GUI (last thing is a matter of taste, I admit).Compyfox wrote: - why is a histogram feature not good enough for that?
I like to work with precise numbers instead of just a graphical representation.Compyfox wrote: - why doesn't a simple GR meter suffice?
I do not get this question. What do you mean with "taken so far"? Too far = 3 seconds? This was just an idea. In the end I'd like to have a more precise actual number instead of just a max value.Compyfox wrote: - why an "average" of the GR readout taken so far?
Actually not. The GR value below the meter is max only.Compyfox wrote: All that is already built into the plugins
It is (at leats to me) rather for reading the amount of compression applied. I also do not see this as a convenience, rather an individual workflow.Compyfox wrote: Is this really only down to convenience for manual Output Gain setup?
Glad you are amused. I am stressed as hell!!! AARGH!! ... No, just kidding.Svama wrote:I think we need a virtually ring card girl? Vojtech, can you implement something like this?
Round 6: Professional AE vs Mr. GR Metering
It´s really funny!

Back at 2001-2002 there was this revolutionary DJ digital mixer called Tascam X9, that apart of the 4 channels' regular three pots EQ (high, mid, bass), it had parametric pots on top of the EQ ones (a la old cassette player controls). Other unseen feature was that it also had a pair of small displays where it was able to show the frequency and the +/- dBs changing on real time, as you were moving the EQ knobs.
Having the visual cue of the exact amount of knee applied plus at which precise freq it occurred, while intuitively working the mixer on the fly as one reacts to the music and atmosphere ...proved being very, very instructive.

I probably missed quite a discussion
. Anyways in the next version there will be a switch between showing maximum (as it is now) and temporary peak. It seems quite useless for peak meters, but works nicely with GR.
