EvilDragon made an excellent interface for EVE too.

Yeahhh, that's what's making me think pretty hard about this... do I need it so bad to justify $400 (despite being a way awesome deal compared to list price)? I personally really want something that layers well with what I have (hollywood orchestra, ewqlso gold, session strings, LASS first chairs), so probably the more character the better. However, amazing pieces have been made with WAY less than what I already have, so I'm still trying to decide if more strings is the answer. It's so easy to get lost scrolling through menus instead of focusing on the music/arrangement, and I've heard Adagio is especially difficult in terms of plug & play workflow.ghettosynth wrote:Yeah, you can't really call anything that's $400 a no brainer around here. Maybe if we were talking about a new car or something.dzilizzi wrote:I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet, but I am close. I've been playing around with what I already have. My SonoKinetic stuff is really amazing. But, it is limited to the phrases that come with it. I find I like using Kontakt libraries over other players.thejonsolo wrote:If the coupon at 8DIO works on the Adagio and Agitato bundle and you get the Anthology for free then it really is a no-brainer. I have all three and it is incredible...even at the regular price.
It is one of those things where the price is so good, I really think I should get it. But right now, I don't really need it. And it is still almost $400 for me.
I cannot offer a direct comparison of the string libraries but I have a couple of 8Dio libraries and a few Spitfire ones and to me the two companies seem to operate on a equal level both in terms of the quality of their products but also in terms of their customer support. 8Dio doesn't do Kontakt Player libraries, so you have to access them through the files menu in Kontakt. Full Kontakt only.dzilizzi wrote:The plus for me for 8dio is it uses Kontakt. I'm not crazy about all this the different players. Kontakt is stable.
If the Adagio/Anthology is on par with Spitfire, it is worth getting. Otherwise, I should pass and save my money
Give your loved ones 15% off by February 15 and earn 15% of their next order in credit towards any software purchase at Waves.
Thank you. This is what I wanted to know. I look at Spitfire and other similar libraries but the price puts me off. 8Dio at its regular price would also be a no go. I have full Kontakt, so its not a problem. I have 3 drives in my newly built computer. The partition with my Kontakt libraries was getting full, but then I realized I had the libraries and sounds on the same drive as my projects which wasn't the plan. Suddenly there is a lot more room.mgw38 wrote:I cannot offer a direct comparison of the string libraries but I have a couple of 8Dio libraries and a few Spitfire ones and to me the two companies seem to operate on a equal level both in terms of the quality of their products but also in terms of their customer support. 8Dio doesn't do Kontakt Player libraries, so you have to access them through the files menu in Kontakt. The Embertone offer was tempting but for me some brand loyalty kicked in plus I already had parts of the Adagio bundle so I went for he 8Dio offer. I think it is an extremely good value but as others have said, at that price point the term "no-brainer" does not apply anymore.
I can also confirm the upgrade path. I bought the Adagio and Agitato libraries I did no yet own and sent 8Dio a support request to add Anthology. And 24 hours later it was in my account (on a Sunday, btw).
One final comment. The three packages come in at around 200GB so you should not be squeamish about download size and disc space.
U-he sales are somewhere between rare and non-existing. The Marketplace is probably your best bet.incubus wrote:I think I want Hive, but I'm feeling pretty cheap. Anyone know of a sale (best marketplace price is selling it for 110, I feel cheaper than that.)
