May I really? Where from my account can I navigate directly to the simple installers for Waveform without having to manipulate a URL?aMUSEd wrote:I haven't bought it yet so you can

When you're logged in paste the link aMUSEd mentioned in the address bar of your browser and you're good to go.

Mate, dRowAudio has literally just said in this thread that it's on the web dev's todo list.tonedef71 wrote:May I really? Where from my account can I navigate directly to the simple installers for Waveform without having to manipulate a URL?aMUSEd wrote:I haven't bought it yet so you can
Can you personally get the installer? Yes. Cool, that's what you wanted, right?
Great, let's crack on with things that actually matter then instead.

Yes, I know that. Amused responded that I should be able to see the links in my account without buying it, after I had already been informed that it was not possible yet without using a provided URL. I was simply asking Amused to share how to navigate to there via the website without manually altering a URL myself or using a bookmark to the shared URL. Perhaps Amused truly knew something the rest of us did not. More likely, he/she did not read my posts before responding.chico.co.uk wrote:Mate, dRowAudio has literally just said in this thread that it's on the web dev's todo list.tonedef71 wrote:May I really? What post did I not read? - from what I can see (unless it's much further up in the thread which I didn't read) I gave you the link before you added the proviso about not manually editing the url in any way (presumably you meant not changing the 7 to an 8 - although I can't really see why that is a problem). I was just saying I can access the installer in the archive without needing to have bought it, which I still haven't.

My apologies to you aMUSEd. I could only see the two faces, but now I see the vase as well.aMUSEd wrote:What post did I not read? - from what I can see (unless it's much further up in the thread which I didn't read) I gave you the link before you added the proviso about not manually editing the url in any way (presumably you meant not changing the 7 to an 8 - although I can't really see why that is a problem). When you said "I haven't bought it yet so you can" I should have interpreted it to mean:
"The URL I shared with you works even for folks who haven't purchased Waveform. I know because it works for me, and I did not purchase Waveform."
instead of interpreting it to mean:
"I provided the URL to you as a convenience, but you really should have been able to navigate to the page from within your account. I can navigate there from my account and I did not purchase Waveform."
My proviso was about acknowledging dRowAudio that I understood that it was not yet possible to navigate directly to the page from one's own account, and that the direct URL that you provided to me was simply one of my downloadable archive links with the version number changed to 8. I had tested the link which you provided and verified that the downloads worked for me, although I neglected to mention that part in my proviso. My consternation was with the fact that many folks are still being told to look for a link in their account, but that advice only applies to purchasers of Waveform (not just any previous Tracktion customer); I wasted enough time chasing phantoms. I wish someone from Tracktion had communicated this distinction much earlier.Apparently, there still currently is no direct link for everyone to navigate from their account page to the "downloadable archive" page for T8/Waveform (unless you are a purchaser of Waveform).
Again, I apologize to you for my misunderstanding. It seemed odd to me that someone who just provided me with the needed URL would then follow up with a "I can do it, so you should be able to do it as well" response; that should have been a clue that I may have misinterpreted what I read.
My misinterpretation of your terse post may have been fueled from postings I have seen in other threads from individuals smugly affirming that the Waveform-only installer links could be found under the bundle offers that show up in one's account. My aim in posting that screenshot from my account page was to hopefully squelch any further unhelpful responses from those who already purchased Waveform.
