I just finished restoring my main drive from a backup in order to 100% eliminate the Windows 10 Creators Update because it seemed to break a few of my favorite plugins - not just in Waveform (and T7)... I downloaded the Reaper demo and they were broken in there, as well. They'd function if already applied in a song, but any of the DAWs in which I attempted to open to make changes in the plugin UI would crash the DAW to desktop.
Be forewarned: backup your computer before applying the forthcoming Windows 10 update.
I've elected to NOT receive the update for a few months (to give me time to see if others have the issue or just me) by going into Settings > Updates & Security > Advanced > "Defer Feature Updates".

Good idea to hold off on creators edition. although it is slated for general release on Tuesday 11 April i would strongly advise against updating, a lot of user control has been removed. and is being replaced with what I can only describe as cookbook options.
fine for people who don't use specialized applications or just want to "get up and go" but if you need very fine control of any critical settings you are increasingly at the mercy of Microsoft who are likely to be supplementing future releases with heavy promotion of their "premium" support services.

Just saw the splash screen from Microsoft today - Windows 10 Creators is being rammed down our throats shortly ...
Now it WILL have a "gaming mode" that will prioritize the active application. Wonder if it will have an impact on audio glitches when the ASIO latency is lowered ?

The 'benefits' of the gaming mode in Win 10 are being discussed here:Peter Widdicombe wrote:Now it WILL have a "gaming mode" that will prioritize the active application. Wonder if it will have an impact on audio glitches when the ASIO latency is lowered ?

According to many internet reports win10 is most unstable. Keep to win7 within nearest 10 years and stay away from gaming.

Accordingly to many other internet reports Windows 10 is solid and better than Windows 7 in most ways that matter, take your pick on the reports of others!
I personally run Windows 10 on 3 machines, one for pro audio, never had a single problem and never need to tweak anything anymore, I am more than happy (I also run hive VR and high end graphics stuff, Windows is getting to be the first choice for this stuff also)

Win 10 has been far more reliable for me as well. One BSOD in 18 months of use. (And that was due to a dying WiFi card).
Granted, like all versions of windows, strangeness will accumulate with time. (I lost the onscreen keyboard for my touch monitor for the last 3 months before a fresh install. A pain, but I actually experienced much more of those sorts of shenanigans during my OSX years, and I had settled into a pattern of performing fresh installs with each new version on my Macbook as well. YMMV).

Windows, like Macs, haves its share of fans, haters, and frenemies. The merits of the OS aren't the point of this thread. I would, however, love to know if anyone that updates to Win10 Creator's has issues with plugins (separately from issues with Waveform+plugins).

Melda plugins also doesn't work since this update. Waveform just crashes after them opening.

Is it breaking the Waves and Melda plugins in other DAWs as well, or just Waveform?

Wavosaur also quit immediately after I tried to view the vst's gui. They works in both (affects the audio tracks) but I can't open them for editing.tovokas wrote:Is it breaking the Waves and Melda plugins in other DAWs as well, or just Waveform?

Here are some steps from WinCentral to at least postpone the Creator's update (as I have done and briefly outlined in the first post) for a couple of months - during which time I hope MSFT and/or the software developers can straighten things out:
