I have the Max for Live version, and while the Archetype instruments sound great, and it's very easy to dial in a variety of good sounds, they are a serious resource hog. Some of the instruments like Sickness will run up past 40 percent CPU, and start crackling. For this reason I find it unusable. I read in another thread that the Kontakt Version 1 did the same thing. I can't see a reason in this day and age where a virtual synth would act like that. I mean even U-he's Diva (in Divine mode) runs better on my computer. I don't see it as anything beyond sloppy code, and they don't offer a demo before you buy. I found it highly disappointing but, maybe the Kontakt version runs a little more efficiently. M4L has always been a little buggy.
