Hi :)

First, I think it would make the whole display a lot more understandable, instead of the waveforms being superimposed on eachother.

Second, it would be great for when sidechaining signals, to evaluate the affect of the compressor.

Thanks!

Hi,

you mean showing the graphs in separate panels? Why? :D I mean isn't it ideal to have everything in the same panel?

It is ideal for when you want to compare the loudness of the signals, yes. But it could have a different function- let's say I have a kick and a bass and I want to sidechain the bass to the kick. Splitting the graphs to 2 vertical Windows, instead of 2 waveforms superimposed on eachother, will help me actually SEE how the compression is affecting the bass in comparison to the shape of the kick.

? I'm confused.

I would think that is much easier to see the effect of the sidechain compressions when the two waveforms are overlaid. And,you can also use the Time-graph view in the (MeldaProduction) Compressor to see the 'before' and 'after' waveforms or levels:

Or, you could open both instances of MMultiAnalyzer and position them to you can see the two views, one waveform in each.

"Problem" is I don't use melda's compressor :)
I guess I could open two instances, but it over complicates things as I don't have a lot of screen real estate.

Hehe then you should use our stuff! :) In any case it seems to me that it is still better to use the graphs in a single panel for this, sorry :o.

Well you should use it ;)

But, more seriously, stacked waveform displays will take up much more screen space than overlaid ones, unless their heights are reduced a lot, in which case they will become less usable.

I think I did see that someone had done an multi-analyzer with a stacked display but cannot recall who.

LOL Fair enough.

The analyzer is called oszilos or something like that. I just don't want to use another software for that single purpose.

But that wasn't the one I saw. And I do not know if you can get the 'before' and 'after' waveforms on the same track.
