I got a bunch of plugins including e.g. Arturia V-Collection 5, NI Komplete 10, Falcon, Avenger etc. (those that you mentioned above) but did not really find one yet that fully replaces Albino 3 and Spectral for me. As long as those keep working (both are available as 64-bit plugins for Windows) finding a replacementt is also not really urgent for me...SLiC wrote:Yeh. all plugs seem to be $49 and sound packs $9 so bargain bucket time!Distorted Horizon wrote:Sad to see this happen. Though now Spectral and CRX4 are cheap as soap. Will we see a flood of cheap licenses in the marketplace?
I think 'belly up' is a bit unfair, I can totally understand small developers just walking away at some point, there are sooooo many good plugs and so many bargains out there (that's without factoring in piracy) I think many of us who haver the typical bundles '(Arturia, NI, AIr etc) and then the 'do not all' synths (Falcon, Reactor, Avenger etc) just have so many bases covered there are not a lot of gaps to fill...I tried the Linplug stuff but it didn't really do anything I didn't already have covered, and to be honest I am not even tempted at under $50....

Well, now I feel bad. Sorry, GeorgeZ. Very sad news, Linplug is so much part of the history of plugins. Wishing them well for their future endeavours.

I, too, am happy with the way the plugins were "left to history." I've been using Octopus on the last 20 songs I've recorded - for all parts but bass (Spectral - it has my favorite bass for a "real sounding," deepness (traditional sounding). It's been fun getting to know how Octopus is really unique and manipulatable. Peter was always helpful and appreciative of our use and dare I say "love" of his art.

I would certainly recommend getting hold of as many Spectral libraries as you can before too late, I have found almost all of them are great quality

I believe that the original release of Albino was one of the first VSTi's that I bought, along with ReFX's Beast. I'm very sorry to see them go. Over the years I've bought most of their products, although I never bought Morphox, but I might do it before they finally close their doors.

Bought Spectral and CRX4 while I still could.

Spectral for peanuts huh. Damn good deal for anyone who likes synths that don't suck.
