Says KVR product pricing specialist, person which run numerous companies and know how stuff works in the background.

I tried to compare Linplug and Rob Papen, and I think RP adapted better what the users like in this new generation of plugins.

I'm starting to see a pattern here. The suggestions we make to developers are frowned upon, then ridiculed... then 5-8 years later, implemented. :hihi:

Well, he has a point - they still have their "old" discontinued plugins (Alpha etc) for sale too, afair 20$ each one.
Without support, so basically the same situation, I think.

Out of respect for people who might have purchased any of their plugins recently I think 9.99 or free would be cruel. But I agree they could have been a little bit cheaper.

I don't think so, as long as there aren't issues with the plugins and the bugs have already been worked out, I think it's a fair price.. while you can still buy it. Eventually you will only be able to buy them 2nd hand, but then again.. I don't know how the license transfer would work.

Point taken. After some consideration I came to a conclusion that they should do an everything bundle for 15$ sale like Prodyne when it was going out of business.

They discontinued some of their plugins a while a back and did a sale. It was supposed to be available for couple of weeks but the sale links should still be working. Maybe their Facebook page still has them.

Ah... so it seems reserved to Facebook users, then.

I haven't seen anything about this offer on Linplug website. And being not a Facebook user...

They are literally just links through to ShareIt purchase pages and you don't have to be logged in to see them on that page. So, no, you don't have to be a Facebook user.

I think dune_rave is spot on. LinPlug instruments all have a very "perfect" type of sound, at a time when dirt and imperfections are all the rage. Urs Heckman gets it. Emulate a Pro-1, but throw in a kick-ass waveshaper so the wubwubbers get excited. Listening to us isn't just placating customers. It's keeping an eye on trends. I don't expect a developer to employ every dumb suggestion, but if enough people ask for something, and other people are implementing similar things in their more successful software, you might want to consider it. Personally, I like the LinPlug character, but not in Albino. Too boring. Perfect in Octopus or Spectral. (I don't know MorphoX)

I know, some of you are already saying, "but then all plugins will end up the same and be bloated POSs!" That is a danger, but the cleaver developer will implement what ever features in their own way and in doing so, hopefully maintain their own character. Using waveshaping as an example, look and listen at how Omnisphere does it and RePro-1 does it. Very different implementation and results. One doesn't negate the other.
