Linplug discontinued :( Back your stuff up.

Interesting! I didn't know that Luigi was so involved elsewhere. I love his Peti, Modelonia and Sinnah – wonderfully playable instruments with a delightfully quirky character!BlackWinny wrote:Luigi [Felici] takes part also to the development of several instruments produced by SampleModeling with the SWAM engine (not the other products that they make for Kontakt)
It is Luigi again who made the first version of EVE (Electronic Vintage Ensemble) and also Mellotronix which are sold by Wusik.
And Luigi made yet many other things. And he keeps on being very active. He is twice a genius and a very active developer not only for him but also for other partners.

If I see more threads like this I'll conclude that coding for a boring ERP company like SAP, JDEdwards etc could be the best thing I could do for a living, but it's too late now.

I see his point, a bit. My knee jerk reaction was, "better get these!" Then I looked at how they added up, and I actually saw that I could easily spend $200 or more. I quickly moved from "better get these" to "I've got tons of great stuff, moving on." I'm not saying that they're not worth it, but at $50 a pop, they're not really a no-brainer to me. Not when they might stop working when Live updates. At $10, I'd take a chance.kmonkey wrote:Says KVR product pricing specialist, person which run numerous companies and know how stuff works in the background.robotmonkey wrote:The only problem I see in all of this is that they are asking 49$ for dead plugins. It would be more sensible to make them 9.99 or even free.
I know nothing lasts forever, but I'm done with my "grab up everything that looks cool" phase. So, while I'm also not a "pricing specialist," I am a "buying specialist" and I'm going to most likely pass on this deal. If they were $10, they'd probably end up with $50 or so of my money, rather than zero.

You don't have to buy all of them..Why not pick just one good one that you had your eye on? For me, that one would be Spectral. I already have CrX4, and it is really cool.zerocrossing wrote:I see his point, a bit. My knee jerk reaction was, "better get these!" is it worth buying MorphoX if I have everything else by them? Can it do stuff that Spectral can't ?

MorphoX and Spectral sound nothing alike. It's a nice addition.wickfut wrote:is it worth buying MorphoX if I have everything else by them? Can it do stuff that Spectral can't ?

What Peter wrote in that letter looks like a mirror image of recent discussions in the developer forum and this isn't just his opinion. I don't know if they'll succeed in video, as far as I can see it's just another field in which only the big boys make money and the rest collect the dust they make, so you have to choose between adventure in life and a boring job. Nothing personal against JD. I left that field a long time ago, it was boring as a field, in general.Hey steady on, making music is my passion, while JDEdwards pays the bills - don't knock it![]()

They are totally different synths.wickfut wrote:is it worth buying MorphoX if I have everything else by them? Can it do stuff that Spectral can't ?
Not at all the same synthesis, not at all the same features, not at all the same way to use each one... and not at all the same sounds neither the same characters.
Two totally different synths to enjoy. They are resolutely complementing each other.

cheers, just bought it and then realised I could have tried the demo
sounds like a more up to date Alpha with some effects and morphing. Not bad for 40 quid.

Unfortunately true. But here's something weird...I had some old plugins that hadn't worked since Yosemite, but when I went to Sierra, I thought just for fun I'd try them...and they worked again.T-CM11 wrote: Maybe not on Windows, but every OSX update is a potential software killer.

You forget a huge feature that has Morphox and that doesn't have Alpha. I let you discover this huge feature by reading the PDF help file. You'll find it very quickly, it is obvious as soon as the first pages of the PDF.wickfut wrote:wagtunes wrote:MorphoX and Spectral sound nothing alike. I had MorphoX, I had Free Alpha also for years, and a few hours ago I have bought Alpha (the full version) and honestly even Alpha and Morphox are very different synths.

ha ha , read manuals? how dare you!
are you talking about the morphing between sounds with the mod wheel, I discovered that when I tried the init preset and changed the sound and nothing happened:P
edit: damn shame Linplug has gone. I love all their stuff. Shame they didn't do the enlarge GUI function on a few of their synths though.

OSX is like the turn signal of a car. Once it works, once it doesn't work, once it works, once it doesn't work, once it works, once it doesn't work...macmuse wrote:Unfortunately true.
