Are you asking about tempo-syncing effects? Everything in SpecOps works in the frequency domain, meaning that it analyzes complete buffers of data at a time and acts upon them as a whole. As a side effect, the concept of tempo disappears when working with these effects. That being said, each of the effects has been tuned to work well with our modulation system. You can get tempo-synced effects by modulating the effects with tempo-synced LFOs/step sequencers/etc.
Sounds amazing!

Yes I do think that all delays should be tempo-synced. The spectral delays I've tried often had that. If there are are hundreds or thousands of bands then maybe it's not so easy but then delay bands can be grouped. Anyway it depends on how the effect is made. I just love when it's easy to make things play in sync.
Looking so much forward to this!

Hey There,

Now that I own all of your plugins and you've implemented all f the plugin formats around I figured I'd start to bug you with feature requests. First off: from what I understand Fault is an FFt based processor, as with all FFT stuff, the ability to change the FFT size allows for a lt more timbral flavours t be made within the same architecture. Also If the sidechain inputs on all your effects could be activated so that the lfo retriggers or envelope folowwer could be cntrolled by a separate track, it would really make all these effects so much more insanely useful. Great luck with Spec Ops. There seems to be a lack of well supported flexible FFT processors out there since Spectrumworx stopped moving forward and apparently every other company with comparable products also ceased developement.

Curious if SpecOps will have masking modules. DtBlkFx has a nice system where you can insert things like threshold or tonal etc masking modules and the immediately following module will only affect bins above/below the threshold or only the tonal stuff etc.

I appreciate that questions like this aren't particularly helpful when you're right at the end of the development cycle.

Looking forward to the release.

edit: ooh, and what about sidechain blending a la Spectrumworx?

We've finally reached a version that we're fully happy with, so here's a real preview.

SpecOps is a massive spectral effect with a performance-focused interface. The basic premise is that there are three effect sections, each with an Amount, Start, and Width control. With each section, you can choose one of something like 40 effects (Categories are Filters, Mixing, Freezers, Geometry, Effects, and Glitchers). Each effect is very straightforward to use, as we've focused on modulation and performance over piles of knobs.

This all runs through a front-end pitch/geometry shifter and a back-end spectral compander. You can pick an FFT size from 128 to 32768 bins. Finally, there's an analog-style LP filter on the output to help tame spectral harshness. There are six display modes: three major display modes each with an optional linear version.

The interface above still needs a few tweaks. For instance, the Freeze button being right below Input Gain doesn't make much sense, the Spectral Compander labels haven't been finished, etc.

Cool, looks interesting! Throw in a mug and t-shirt and it's a done deal, whaddya say! :hihi:

Drooooooooling.... You already have a sell overhere :hihi:

Take my money now :tu:

Looks good but are there no controls for a single modules effect?
I do see that it still allows for a lot of effects with the Geometry effect etc.

you should team up with little endian and making like a Super SpectrumOpsWorx , which has the best of both and would be stable.

jokes aside, looking forward

Forgive me, but I thought that there were updates in the works for dent/indent for different filter options.

It's in the Release Candidate stage. We had a few delays due to tester feedback and a new set of presets.

Fault 1.1 can be downloaded now from its product page. We haven't done the release news yet on that, but will do so after the holiday. It has the updated modulation system from Sandman Pro 1.1 and Instant Delay.

RC stage, BRING IT!!!!!

Great to get a proper look at this thing. Excellent stuff! I look forward to no longer bugging you about SpecOps and bugging you about the next thing instead.

It's a creative compressor. Have at it

Or is "Amount" actually an effect control i.e. changing the spectral content, rather than just a dry/wet control?
