I asked if the plugins released after were added to the bundle later (for free) and they said "nope, only the current ones".

Also I think there are no bundles anymore on Plugin Alliance, they stopped them (https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/bund ... inued.html).
Ahh, thanks for the heads-up. Edited my post above to reflect this.

I think at the time they just incremented the version number of the bundle and you could upgrade that way. E.g., a new UA plug was released, 100% Unfiltered 1.0 was discontinued and 100% Unfiltered 1.1 appeared in its place, allowing you take advantage of the bundle completion discount to get the new plug.

TBH I'm kinda worried I might not be able to afford SpecOps now. I'd assumed there'd be a bundle completion discount :/

edit: actually, just spotted the custom bundle discount should still do the trick assuming I'm understanding it correctly and can count my previously purchased UA plugs toward it :tu:

They're usually not that expensive and, if you're a previous PA customer, you'll get the voucher off too ;)

The custom bundle is usable only at the time of purchase. Previously purchased plugins do not count toward the future purchase of a custom bundle.

Previous purchases do however count toward your monthly voucher, which is very generous once your collection grows a bit.

My opinion: wait for sales; they happen frequently, and the bigger sales happen on US holidays. Stay on top of their newsletters and be ready to purchase your desired PA plugin when it goes on sale. I think the vast majority of their catalog goes on sale at least once a year.

SpecOps looks very interesting, ty for such spectral device. Cant wait to try demo (especially considering this modulation system).

Many thanks wesleyt. I got a $50 voucher for July, so I'm delighted to hear that's a monthly thing. Hopefully it'll make picking up SpecOps on release feasible for me.

Apologies to Unfiltered Audio for derailing the thread with boring business stuff. :)

Checked out the Richard Devine demo since my last post, and just wanted to reiterate how good the crispy transient sharpening I praised earlier is sounding. Hearing similarly sharp results with a 4096-sample window to those in Ignatius' demo where the window was locked to 1024 samples is enormously impressive.

Wasn't particularly interested in Spec Ops (and I own all of the UA plugins) because I couldn't see how it would be useful to me in the style of music I produce...
Now, after seeing the first couple of videos, I'm all 'Give it to me now!' :D
Looks, and sounds, like it's gonna be a killer plug.

Honestly, this alpha has been amazing so far. The testers have been sending us fantastic videos and feedback. We can't wait to get this out.
And of course one can also use a mad plugin like this in a more subtle way of adding texture to beats and instruments etc.
It's great that we can now use the step sequencer to modulate dry/wet or fx amount and bring in the effect at various places or randomly

@thelizard, can you please consider making it possible to switch presets with midi in Spec Ops? Pretty please

We put a feature freeze in place a few weeks back so that we could finally release it. MIDI presets won't make it into 1.0. We have one more full-sized plugin coming out by the end of the year, and then we'll work on re-engineering a lot of the systems stuff (presets, sidechains, etc.).

The beta test is going really well. One of our testers posted this awesome video of SpecOps on bass guitar:

Nice to hear this in a mix context. Delay compensation is spot on and that automation is tight with the beat. Not always a given in a spectral plug.

Ready to reveal a release window yet, however tentative?

Very Nice! That demo just sold me on it.
Play it by ear
